Laser + the sun, let’s talk about it!!
One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is that laser hair removal can’t be done in the summer, but that’s actually not true! 👏
Laser hair removal CAN absolutely be done all summer long, we just need to be smart + mindful about sun exposure! The laser works by targeting pigment in the hair follicle, so when skin is freshly tanned or sunburned, it can make treatment riskier because the laser may also pick up on pigment in the skin itself. That’s why avoiding recent tanning/burning + following proper aftercare is SO important!
We actually have tons of guests who continue treatments all summer, especially in areas like the bikini/Brazilian area + underarms, since those zones typically aren’t getting direct sun exposure the same way legs, arms, or face do!
Want to keep up with legs or facial areas during the summer months? You definitely still can, it just means being extra diligent with SPF, avoiding intentional tanning, and communicating with Alaina so we can guide you safely!
And if summer gets busy or you’ve had more sun exposure than usual, no stress at all!! Fall is also an AMAZING time to start or restart laser treatments, and we are always happy to help you come up with a plan that makes the most sense for your lifestyle + goals!
