For my capstone peace and justice seminar “civic engagement in theory and practice,” I wrote a photo essay about my journey of doing photo and film work in Bolivia as part of my advocacy and community-based training semester (ACTS) with the University Network for Human Rights (
@united.for.human.rights ) and critically analyzed the significance and ethics of photo and film for human rights. I cited literature from our class about emotional sensibility, Antiracism, public life, and the endurance of social movements to help readers understand the political context behind the fight for justice for victims of state violence. Here you can see the photos I included in this project and read the full essay in my link in bio.
