Asia Pacific Trail Running Championships ULJU 2024, South Korea Mountain ultras rarely follow the rules — distances stretch, weather turns fast, and athletes spread out across terrain where infrastructure simply doesn’t exist. For the Asia Pacific Ultra Marathon, our field production had to work like a moving organism. We deployed a mixed camera fleet: • runners as a camera operators covering technical parts • remote trail cameras pre-rigged on ridgelines • drones monitoring exposed sections • long-lens positions at control points • bonded-cellular backpacks for roving crew, tested on low-signal sections the day before the race Because the course stretched across valleys with weak coverage, we used multi-SIM LiveU units with adaptive bitrate and staggered transmit paths. This gave us stable live feeds even when runners moved deep into forested zones.
