I have something really exciting to share with you guys! Two summers ago, I was contacted by Framestore to work on a Super Bowl commercial for the Nerds Candy company! This project fell into my lap one day out of the blue and ended up being one of those dream assignments I never knew existed. I was brought in as a concept artist to help develop a brand new character, Gummy Monster, and also help update the classic Nerds characters into their new live-action form! The experience was so rewarding and I can’t say enough about the world-class professionalism and incredibly fun work environment Framestore offers! During the project I was told that my work is a great bridge between 2D and 3D and that the CG artists love working with my volumetric character designs. It was so much fun to help find the look and feel of Gummy’s face and proportions, and also figure out how the classic Nerds characters would blink, allowing them to show more emotion with the addition of higher functioning eyelids. It’s a surreal feeling to see something I helped develop on the TV screen…and during the big game!!! I’m forever grateful to Framestore and the creative team for the opportunity and for believing in my work!

Thank you Arrtx for the free markers!! These paint pens have quickly become the go-to sketching marker for Lorcana artists who need to paint on the road. I remember feeling frustrated early on while painting live at conventions due to the limited colors of Posca and Sharpie brands. Arrtx completely solved the problem with their extensive color palette that offers beautifully rich nuanced warm and cool tones that are simply unmatched by other companies. Another quality of these markers that sold me is the High-Adhesion. The paint lays super flat making it adhere better to the paper surface. They have perfected the viscosity and opacity of this paint so it doesn’t easily scratch off like Sharpie paint pens. My only critique is the packaging is a little bulky and not great for travel. Overall 9.5 out of 10 🎨✍️✨
