"Teddy Roosevelt,The Elkhorn Years" 18x15.(portray by Mason Beals) I have the distinct privilege of knowing the whole cast of the hit Western TV series Elkhorn. A show about the early life of Teddy Roosevelt and his life in the Badlands of North Dakota in which he learned to be a cowboy/rancher. I just returned from the premiere that was held in the town of Medora where the real events took place. This portrait was on display at the premiere party. Painting is all about simplifying your process and focusing on the drawing. When @weistling paints, he starts with a rough base drawing to establish the composition, then refines it as he goes. It's also helpful to limit your palette which forces you to think more about values, color harmony, and brushwork.
