Weird Stuff Only is a variety show for the strange, the unusual, and the highly peculiar! Featuring Oanh Vu, Devohn Bland + Karly Bergmann, Bakibakibaki, and May + the Ladies! This show is NOT TO BE MISSED! August 10th, 7pm SHARP (doors open at 6), $15-$25 sliding scale. ASL interpretation is offered, and masks are required and provided.

I drew these positives directly on film to be screen printed. some of these made the cut and some didn’t. it’ll be a two color print, red and black, printed on unisex and boxy tees in a variety of colors.
ARTIST ALERT!!! So so so so pleased to have BakiBakiBaki on the show again. Been seein their growth and evolution and visions thru these years, and feel so honored every time they grace us with their energies! BakiBakiBaki is a BlackNative multidisciplinary artist with a freaky obsession for shadows. After being tapped on the shoulder just three years ago to try their hand at puppetry, BBB is now known for their dynamic cuts and mythical portraits all done through shadow puppets! Come to Heart of the Beast Theater on Aug 10 at 7pm SHARP to see BBB perform a new work <3 Masks requried, ASL provided, sliding scale $15-$25.

Karly Gesine Bergmann and Devohn Bland performed at the first ever WSO back in 2022, combining Devohn’s instrumental music and Karly's handcut shadow puppets.They are now performing at one of the last WSO shows (FOR NOW), and are once again pairing Devohn’s new instrumental tracks and Karly’s new Shadow act, working title HAND STUFF ONLY!! May + The Ladies is the electropop project of composer May Klug. Drawing from her experimental synth practice, love of dance and pop music, and experience as a frontwoman in queercore punk bands, this project is May’s desperate and misguided attempt to create extremely likeable music. May is lucky to be joined in this effort by an incredible group of collaborators who work together to create a true pop spectacle on a DIY budget. For this performance at Weird Stuff Only, that team will be:

ARTIST ALERT!! The amazing Oanh Vu is FINALLY in Weird Stuff Only!! I’ve been asking Oanh for years and am so glad we get to see some of her gorgeous hand puppetry. Oanh Vu (she/her) is a puppeteer, educator, and community organizer. As a 2nd generation Vietnamese American she uses humor and the playfulness of puppetry to tell stories of healing and social change for her communities. She is a recipient of the 2025-2028 Jerome Hill Fellow and a Jim Henson Foundation Grant recipient. She got her start in puppetry through Monkeybear’s Harmolodic Workshop and is now the Puppet Lab Co-artistic director at Open Eye Theatre. Her artwork has been shared at theatres, museums, & community spaces all across Twin Cities including the In the Heart of the Beast Theatre, the Mia, the MN Opera, Open Eye Theatre, Theater Mu, Twin Cities Public Television, and the Walker Art Center.
