To avoid trailer sway, you want your tongue weight at 10-15% of the Gross Trailer Weight. If I’m pulling 8,000 lbs, I need to see 800-1,200 lbs on that @weighsafe gauge before I hit the highway.

Tongue weight is very often overlooked or not even considered. Even on a small lawn trailer with a mower in the back improper (too much or too little) can make a huge difference on how the trailer tows.

I’m always making changes to my setup. I tow a lot and for long distances. Towing with the Dually gives me a little fudge factor but proper tongue weight is still important and effects how it tows

Trailer weighs an estimated (need to take to scales) 11-12000lbs loaded like this. Tongue weight should be 10-15% of trailer weight so once the Kei Truck was loaded 1700ish pounds is in range.
