It was amazing to catch up with my grad school friend @dillonmkelly 8 years later!?!?!!! Also had a great time with @katelinekelly and their adorable daughter Camden! 2nd pic is a throwback to when Dillon decided not to show up to Scoring to Picture, so @lnz123 and I drew a picture in his honor. 🤣

@soulsofsavannahshow wrapped principal photography yesterday with our last shooting day for Portrait of Ruin! Bittersweet. We are all exhausted, but I’ve loved every minute of being on set with my students. I had so much fun mixing these scenes in our attic build and even put together a quick car rig that sounded solid! @itsanauxine was my amazing boom op/utility and I really appreciated her solid boom operation and assistance! She can lav up difficult costumes like a pro! Shout out to @elliotjamescunningham for his awesome data wrangling and editing throughout this whole production. It’s cool to work with former students of mine in other positions as well! I will be overseeing post this summer with even more amazing students, so the work definitely isn’t done yet! I had a great time with the @sounddevices 833 and CL-16. I will be mixing a feature film this summer with it and have been building my cart. So, be on the lookout for more work from me soon! 👀🔥 (I really want an 888 - that’s for sure.)

Happy Mother’s Day to my momma @debwolford ! I’m so proud of you and how you’ve handled this past year. I couldn’t ask for a better mom. Thank you for everything you’ve sacrificed for me and I can’t wait to see you next month!

I loved putting this SFX field trip together for our SNDS students! We captured amazing sounds of everything related to horses. Especially galloping around the ambisonics mic!

My dad’s 1963 Studebaker Avanti is the first one that we are parting ways with in my dad’s classic car collection. This photo was taken in 1998. My sister is the two year old on the bottom left. What thrills me is that the buyer plans on driving it along Route 66 during the route’s 100th anniversary. My dad would be absolutely thrilled to know of this and it brings me some peace knowing that it’s being sold to someone who will cherish her just as much as he did. My mom is leaving this photo in the glovebox so he can ride along. One of my favorite memories in this car was when we took it to the Studebaker test track in South Bend, IN, where it was manufactured. I was in elementary school and we shared the track with several other Studebakers. The Avanti was Studebaker’s answer to the Corvette and this one in particular was manufactured for a shareholders meeting in Las Vegas. I remember dad telling me how special that was. It’s bittersweet letting these cars go. It feels like another part of him we are losing. But, giving them new life is the right, honorable thing to do. I love you, dad. I always will.

That’s a wrap on @soulsofsavannahshow Portrait of Ruin! I’m so proud of my students and their hard work amidst some 90 degree days. We dealt with traffic, music blasting outside, difficult wardrobe, incredible dynamic range in performances, etc., and they handled it like pros. Im really going to miss working with students on this show when we fully wrap soon. We’ve all learned so much and it’s been incredibly fulfilling. @ethan.s.berger mixer, @_ryanewhams_ boom, and @itsanauxine utility/2nd boom.

That’s a wrap on @soulsofsavannahshow Peacock Ashes! My student team dealt with a great deal of challenges on this set and I am extremely proud of how well they worked together to deliver strong sound despite it all. Loud peacocks, generators, rain setups, tight spaces, etc., and they handled it all like pros. I have been having so much fun mentoring students on these film sets and can’t wait for everyone to hear their work. @itsanauxine Mixer, @ethan.s.berger Boom Operator, and @katzsnds Utility.

That’s a wrap on Invasive Species! The first story that is a part of the first episode of @soulsofsavannahshow ! My amazing students @via.onfilm (mixer), @vampire.vomit (boom op), and @_ryanewhams_ (utility) were absolutely outstanding on set and it was an honor of mine to help guide them along throughout the process. They endured 3 night shoots, gnarly gnats, 2 generators, low ceilings, tight spaces, difficult wardrobe, stunts, and plenty of dynamic range in the actors performances and handled it all like professionals. I seriously can’t wait for you all to hear their work soon. In just a few weeks, we will be working with Ted Levine, who is narrating the series! I’m living the dream being able to teach students on an active film set and can’t wait to mentor even more students on the rest of our sets next quarter. Stay tuned!!!

My advanced production audio students wanted to practice more soldering. It was a great way to wrap up the quarter and give them something fun to do during finals. I am really going to miss this bunch of students. 🥹 But, I’m thrilled to be on set with them this weekend and next quarter for Souls of Savannah! If you need production audio, I now have 8 more students who are going to be stellar in the field!!
