Netflix has officially greenlit a Barbaric live-action series based on the Vault Comics title by Mike Moreci and Nathan Gooden.
The adaptation comes from Sheldon Turner and Robert Rovner, with Sam Claflin attached as executive producer and Patrick Stewart previously reported to potentially voice the axe.

Marvel just announced a new imprint called Midnight and I was surprised at the direction they’re headed after the Ultimate Universe.
Jonathan Hickman is doing Midnight X-Men, Benjamin Percy is on Midnight Fantastic Four, and Phillip Kennedy Johnson is writing Midnight Spider-Man.
The X-Men aren’t fighting for coexistence anymore, they’re hunting. The Fantastic Four aren’t exploring to understand the unknown, they’re unleashing it. And Spider-Man’s whole “great power” idea gets pushed into something a lot darker.
It’s one of those announcements that sounds like an alternate universe event stretched into its own line. Could be really cool if they lean into the creators, or it could turn into shock value for shock value’s sake.
Either way, it’s definitely not the usual Marvel lane.
