Knocking out a simple faux bois/ fake wood accent at another couple medical MRI rooms at another SMIL office. My crew and I have already completed over 200 jobs this year… As I have stated before, some of those jobs are an hour or two painting some face plates or doing a repair to a wood floor or to stone… On our never-ending fight to end the scourge of boring, sterile white walls…. We are typically booking out 6 to 8 weeks and get a handful of calls a day with people wanting to get rid of their lifeless interiors even if just by adding the most slightest neutral finishes, because they make such a difference. A long time follower, a designer/remodeler called me because during a huge remodel project… Somehow several areas on the new concrete floor got stains on it. The concrete company could not get rid of them and so they end the DM we’re looking at having to recoat the entire lab to meet the clients expectations… And after several discussions with the client, Steve remembered seeing several of my post where we repaired concrete. So the job supervisor called me and asked if I could get by there ASAP, and I just happened to be 15 minutes away so I ran over there and they asked if I could do a small sample to show the client whether there would be a difference or not… And less than an hour I remedied several spots… Much too their delight, problem solved! #faux #concretefloors #betterthanbefore #justlikenew #nowyouseeitnowyoudont “Wheretheresawillietheresawayie!”

Most days I enjoy would I do…some days I absolutely love my work… Then there are days , that you can’t wait for the day to end. But then there are the occasional day that I am absolutely floored and honored to get to work in the homes that I get to. This was one of those days… It’s not very often that you get to have a personal tour of a client’s art collection… And get to see for instance, an original Frida Kahlo, an original Georgia O’Keefe, Winslow Homer, and Gustav Klimt, to name a few … an Absolutely mind-boggling and jaw dropping experience. #whitewallssuck #artislife #crazyfauxguy #wheretheresawillietheresawayie this particular client had the most incredible collection of renowned artists from the last 200 years… And it was no more of a thrill than going to another client‘s home the next day and Dean not one, but two original paintings five years Instagram and when you walk into a house and you instantly recognize the person style… Always makes me smile… You want your life to be better surround yourself with positive people, eat great food… And most importantly, buy original artwork! #louiscarreon

When the builder had to break into the shower wall to replace the old leaky valve… And they have to install an access panel… but white metal is not quite cutting it. #faux #fauxstone #btterthanbefore #nowyouseeitnowyoudont #crazyfauxguy The colors are right on point to the naked eye, but the metal door doesn’t photograph the same as the translucency of the natural stone. No matter how much red that I added, it still photographed with a green tint.

When your client’s builder has taken over a year to do your kitchen remodel and you’re just wanting it all to be done with! Good thing a neighbor had our number…. “I hate my dark stove hood and tiles, but just want it to be over!” Well , we can recommend a good tile crew, or we can use a specialty paint that will adhere to the tiles and have them compliment your new countertops. “Let’s do it!” In and out in 6 hours… #justlikenew #betterthanbefore #faux #crazyfauxguy

Good morning all! I posted yesterday of us working on this job and showed the outlet that I did, but I went on a rant describing how several times a month we have to go into homes that have Venetian plaster and there’s either water damage. Remodeled scars are just temple normal wear and tear over the years and the clients or a builder tells us that the original company that did the Plaster and let them know that they can’t repair the work… So they have to come back in either redo walls from corner to corner no matter how small the damage is or actually have to redo the whole area. We did a job last year for a Builder that had Plaster and they had a water leak from the sprinklers and said that the person that had just did the Plaster six months earlier said he couldn’t match his color so they would have to do the area over $26,000 me Reece and one of my other guys Paul went in and repaired the three or four areas and we did it for 3200 and the clients could not tell the difference… Stop spending your money so un wisely or just put your money in a box and we’ll come pick it up. It’s like going to a five star resort for dinner and they bring you a bowl of water and tell you it’s soup stop being fooled if you can’t tell the difference why are you spending three or four times more on it… So this is a video from yesterday and I apologize for the music that started I meant to reach out the video, but I didn’t, but there were areas and walls that had to totally be done so they had them re-drywall and we had to go in there and primed them and base them out and make them look like the other areas that were plaster and side-by-side the builder and the homeowner said they could not tell the difference. I believe there is a little bit of a difference, but if you can’t see the difference from 3 feet away. Why would you spend thousands and thousands of dollars more to have it done?#faux #fauxfinish #justlikenew #betterthanbefore #remodel and if they want to spend an exorbitant amount of money for something you can’t tell and you can’t repair well how the hell did they ever become wealthy because it wasn’t because of the decision-making skills?

We were over in a house in PV today finishing up major repairs to the plaster walls … yet again! It ABSOLUTELY blows my mind when a homeowner, builder or a designer calls us to repair plaster walls because the plaster company told them that they CANNOT match their work (color,texture)… so they will need to do the entire wall from corner to corner, or worse, the ENTIRE area! Come On folks!!! If we can go in and save you thousands of dollars and there is practically no discernible difference… not that it matches perfectly, but pretty dang close. So if you’re one those with “More sense than dollars” and not someone that has “More dollars than sense “. Give us a call! No Emperors New Fauxs As we were finishing up the clients wall repairs, I ask him if he would like for me to paint his kitchen outlets to blend away? He asked how much?
