Being method actors, the Dead Martian players had a 17th century meal of roast beast to get into the Jacobean mindset. You were missed @adairrae3 and @bennybarahona ❤️ This theater troupe formed last August with @sagasofsnorri , and tonight’s “wheel of fire” show marks our 3rd collab as a group. Come see us be dramatic, messy and chaotic in this ahistorical imagining of Shakespeare’s final play! 10pm tonight at @thehobgoblinplayhouse . Tickets are PWYC at the link in the bio #shakespeare #livetheatrela

New play drops tomorrow at 10pm! In 1613 the Globe Theatre burned to the ground when a prop cannon misfired during a production of Henry VIII. That’s the official story anyway. But what if it was no accident… Come see the premier staged reading Friday May 1st at @thehobgoblinplayhouse tickets are PWYC at the link in our bio #bardfest #shakespeare #playwrightsofinstagram #itsgonnabemay

Ok so it’s not an overcast London day today, but it was yesterday when I filmed this. 🎭 TLDR: my new play is being performed this Friday and I need a test audience. Come on out to @thehobgoblinplayhouse for a fun show about jealousy, arson and Shakespeare! Details in the bio #hollywoodfringe #shakespeareinthepark #bardfest #theatreworkshop #shakespearesglobe

In Shakespeare’s day, May Day (celebrated May 1st) was a huge debaucherous street carnival in honor of spring. Naturally, this was infuriating to Puritans who were a rising political faction opposed to festivals of any kind - and who banned all festivals when they took over in 1649. It is against this backdrop that “Wheel of Fire” is set. Come see this hilarious, irreverent tragic comedy live in Hollywood this May Day (Friday night) at @thehobgoblinplayhouse Puritans, drag queens, Shakespeare and arson! What’s not to love? In honor of Shakespeare’s birthday, here’s the cast for “Wheel of Fire” alongside their historical counterparts. If you’re a fan of the bard, the best way to honor him is to support local playwrights! Be the first to witness this irreverent tragic comedy at our reading next Friday, May 1 at 10 PM. AND head over to @thestagecrafts to see all the other shows happening this week at #bardfest Get your PWYC tickets at the link in the bio 🔗 🎟️ #playwrightsofinstagram #shakespeare #losangelestheatre

11 years ago I wrote a play about the trinity. In my play God was depicted as three homeless prophets trying to get the reincarnated forms of Adam and Eve to recognize them. But instead of father son and holy spirit, they were GOD THE PRIME, a genderfluid shapeshifting god of spectrums and in between states, GOD THE GREY, a compassionate, sorrowful god who sees all possible futures and worries about them, and CREATIVE THOUGHT, the most powerful of the three, a young artsy girl who creates universes. These characters helped me come to terms with my own queerness (although it would still be another couple years before I fully came out.) Our fallen world is obsessed with binaries and gate keeping. But I believe that God is not, and that God’s ideal for humanity is not rigid or prescriptive. Today is trans day of visibility, and I’m reflecting on Gods transness. Queer people of all varieties reflect their maker. #transdayofvisibility🏳️‍⚧️

I started a Substack for my creative writing on Christian theology. This poem was hard to write, because resurrection is hard (for me) to comprehend as a concept let alone a core belief. So here is my attempt to do that in a child friendly way. If you’re interested in such things, check it out at the link in my bio 🕊️
