@insydium_ltd Nexus and FLIP Fluids Fan Art for Liquid Death 💀
Inspired by the Greatest Hates III album artwork. Honestly can’t even remember the cache time on this one because it’s been sat on my drive for months 😅
Big shout out to Nexus and the FLIP Fluids update for making this stuff way more accessible.
@insydium_ltd
Built a custom X-Particles rig using flow fields and spline driven direction for full art direction. Controlled particle speed over time, added collisions, plus a custom Nexus setup for subtle motion.
Rendered in Redshift using clouds and sky.
Didn’t animate the birds. The animator smashed it. If you see this, shout and I’ll credit you.
R&D didn't make the project. Not all lost. The rig’s reusable.
@insydium_ltd Nexus and FLIP Fluids have never been so sweet 🐝
This took 1 hour 30 minutes to cache on a 4090. My first liquid sim back in 2017 took 18 hours, which still kind of blows my mind. Before the FLIP Fluids update, creating effects like this, especially boiling-style liquids, felt pretty out of reach.
Let me know in the comments what you would like to learn. If enough people are into it, I will turn it into a full tutorial series.

Having a play with the new Nexus tools. Those thick drips and that glossy breakup add so much realism. 🍫🍦

New R&D bit—Redshift and Cinema 4D.
Just seeing how far I can push light, texture, and motion.
These little experiments feed everything we do at Weasel Creative.
