It’s a fri-YAY Band Spotlight as Thin Line Fest closes in 🤠
You wont want to miss sounds like these:
@iamdende
Katy-bred, Houston Texas-based crooner Dende doesn’t necessarily want to bring yearning back to R&B (as many are asking for), but instead, he aims to reinvent that style. On his upcoming Def Jam debut EP, “I am because you are…” (out March 26), instead of singing about how he needs a lover, Dende muses about how he will do anything for someone; how he will shift himself to satisfy them, if need be. This is what separates Dende from the pack of modern R&B vocalists: a focused and distinct intention that explodes into euphoric multilayered melodies.

Upsetting is Caleb Lewis, Charlie DeBolt, Drew Kee, & Kevin Adkins. Four friends who like fat riffs, bummer lyrics, & keepin’ it 100.
@houseswedieintx
Formed in 2023, Austin’s Houses We Die In deliver a modern take on the early to mid 2000s metalcore/post-hardcore sound with an energetic and chaotic live show to match.
@elnuh
Elena Lopez, known by the stage name Elnuh, fronts a trio specializing in “dreamy trashgaze” as she describes it. As the name suggests, the sound harkens back to the shoegaze stylings of Ride or Lush, but Lopez’s piercing lyrics and beckoning tone bear a hint of Harriet Wheeler, simultaneously sweet and sad. The vocal anguish ties in effortlessly with the band’s lush sonic textures. Delicate layered guitars float over a strong backbone of bass and drums provided by Luke Mitchell and Daniel Puente, respectively.
