Having worked for many years in HE it was great to witness the role these two societies play in bringing students together and helping them belong.

🙌🏻Anyone else grew up rewinding cassette tapes with a pencil in the 90’s? 📼
Walked into Front Room Sheffield and instantly got hit with that nostalgia.
The walls are lined with cassette tapes and vinyl records, giving the whole place that cosy living-room-hangout vibe. 🎧
And honestly… the sandwiches are just as good as the aesthetic.
The cafe only opened last week and somehow I kept finding excuses to go back and try another one.

Also right opposite a nursery, which makes it the perfect post drop-off coffee and cake recovery stop for parents ☕🍰
What I tried across a few visits:
🥪 Pastrami, emmental, rocket, mustard & pickles
🧀 Caramelised onion, brie, rocket & honey
🧀 Grilled cheese with ham, mustard & cheddar
🏆 Mortadella, salami, mozzarella, pesto & rocket (still my favourite)
They’ve also got an event space at the back for small gatherings, creative events or even intimate weddings.

Calling all wedding couples past and present! From Monday @front_room_sheffield opens its doors and welcomes all friends of @wearethehide to come down, grab a coffee and have a good old nosey at the new space.
Coming soon! @front_room_sheffield is opening at the Hide on Monday 9th March and it’s coming with a whole new look. Hot drinks, light breakfasts, panini lunches, a curated daily soundtrack, vinyl and cassette listening posts for customers to relax out of the office. At weekends we welcome our guests for private hire events. Reward schemes for locals. We hope to welcome some of you in opening week!
