On Friday, January 16, we warmly invite you to the opening of ‘The Waves’, a group exhibition curated by Nesli Gül, featuring works by Gamze Öztürk @gamzeozturk.art ,Anouk Kruithof @anouk_kruithof , Lana Mesić @lana_mesic , and Mesut Öztürk @mesozt at Contour Gallery @contour.gallery in Rotterdam. ‘The Waves’, inspired by Virginia Woolf’s novel of the same name, explores identity as fluid, relational, and continuously shaped by memory, ecology, ritual, and interdependence. Across performance, video, installation, and sculpture, artists offer distinct yet interwoven perspectives: from ritual and bodily transformation to ecological and post-human narratives, material storytelling rooted in history and place and sculptural meditations on fragility, care, and solidarity. Together, their works create a terrain where the boundaries between body, nature, and technology are continuously renegotiated and invite reflection on how bodies, histories, and environments are deeply entangled within contemporary life. During the opening, Gamze Öztürk will present a live performance of Hands on Hips, activating the space through embodied gesture, ritual, and collective presence. August 29, on Friday, we warmly invite you to the opening of ‘Mountain as a Living Archive,’ a cross-cultural group exhibition curated by Nesli Gül, featuring works by Awoiska van der Molen @awoiska_vandermolen , Müge Yılmaz @mugeyilma , Kevin Bauer @__kevin_bauer__ and Zeynep Yılmaz @zeeynepyilmaz The exhibition repositions the mountain as a living repository of geological time, embodied memory, and collective transformation. From meditative to speculative and politically engaged approaches, the works explore themes of landscape, embodiment, aspiration, and the complex traces left by human intervention. During the opening, Zeynep Yılmaz will present a new spoken performance by unfolding her evolving exploration of the mountain imagery as metaphor. Jan Bot @janbotfilms is an A.I filmmaker working relentlessly for the past five years, producing films from Eye Filmmuseum’s @eye_film old archives that comments on current trending events. The core concept, utilization of technology and the way it’s presented (both the website and physical installation at the museum’s collection center) are amazing. And even though Jan Bot has produced more than 26000 films, the creators of Jan Bot, Bram and Pablo @thirdeyemedia.nl were critical regarding content generation on social media and activation of archival material rather than Jan Bot’s films and never called them as artwork - until its death! Since December, Jan Bot has been decaying. All of his legacy will be erased forever from his hard drive until his funeral on March 31st. Only 500 of them will survive on decentralized storage as NFTs. NonSpace @NonSpace have contributed to Jan Bot as a web3 advisor @cuneytdurukan and spent many hours with creators of Jan Bot to build a meaningful "roadmap" that is harmonious with the ethos of the project. “Killing Jan Bot” was never about “selling out in 30 seconds or a year-long roadmap or designing highly complicated smart contracts”. In its core, Jan Bot’s NFT journey is about reaching new (and traditional) audiences beyond web3 natives, experimenting with physical and digital activations to ignite discussions and most importantly utilizing the technology to reinforce the concept - not the other way around. The same philosophy is applied while picking the blockchain to mint the works. Considering its audience profile (both collectors and artists), room to experiment and its sustainable technology made the Tezos an obvious choice. Now, it’s possible for global audience to collect a unique 1/1 Jan Bot film and carry its artistic legacy on a new medium. Every penny made through the project will be used for the preservation of film heritage. The Grand Final of “The Audience is Present was hosted by Omnea in collaboration with Nonspace. Many Omneans attended the real-time DJ performance that took place at the After party. With the neural model, tracking technology and 3D skeleton data, the DJ turned into a real-time avatar and performed.
