I’m not going to write anything here, as I’ve clearly explained myself and my actions in my press release. I’ve put a link in ‘the bio’. Best Regards, Clive
I’ve been advised by Richard to say here that Paul, who is wearing a mask, has ‘given it’ to ‘Varga’.
I don’t really know why but who am I to argue? I just manage the artistes. ‘Give it to Varga’ is out on the 21st of December. BR Clive
Delighted to announce the imminent release of GiT’s latest ‘track’ - it’s called ‘Give it to Varga’ and I’m reliably informed it will ‘stream’ on your phones on 21st December. I’ve been very busy with Christmas plans lately but will write up the Press Release just as soon as I’ve finished my Ocado order. DM for details. Clive Meakins.
GiT (after a lengthy and at times tedious negotiation with its owner Macks) endorse @rexstudion1 - home to some of their finest sessions, including Tankhead and Captain Hauser.
The accompanying promotional video for Ceiling Granny by @mogwaiband puts into place many of the techniques I attempted to pioneer with GiT’s 1985! Should I be concerned? They both spent time in Glasgow!! You can see for yourself, simply google GiT YouTube 1985, scroll down a bit / toggle to page two, select the video, watch it then google Ceiling Granny Mogwai YouTube then watch that, compare, decide, like and subscribe, leave a comment. Cheers, Clive Meakins. PS sorry I have not posted lately - I’m writing a book! More on that later. CM.
He said he was ‘onto something’. I left him there and haven’t heard anything since. The photo was taken in 2018!! Sometimes in management you have to trust your artist. On the other hand, if he fails me I see no reason to not renegotiate his contract. Cheers, Clive.
Sorry it’s been a while. Lots on in the Meakins Portfolio of businesses. The production of the Captain Hauser filmette was typically on time and roughly within budget. Despite it being one of the band’s favourites, I can’t say it’s their best but the visuals certainly bring it up to a reasonably high standard. DM me if you’re after some additional film production capability. Everything’s great between the band and me but with this continued lockdown you have to be open to opportunities! Cheers Clive PS I have left a click link in the bio page - watch the video and let me know your thoughts.
I must say, I felt somewhat threatened when I opened this message from Del. We hadn’t spoken too much of late and I was a little nervous that he’d taken my last email explaining some of the finer details about my management contract a little too seriously. A lot of the language I used was technical but I see now it was couched in language that could have been misinterpreted as aggressive and rude. Anyway when he explained it was a ‘gif’ file and was more ‘contentI’ for the digital media, well I was delighted. Remember to stream the band on your mobile phone. Cheers Clive
I hadn’t realised they’d made a video to 1985. I admit I was a little less hands on in that period. Peter and I were close and I didn’t enjoy their acceptance of his moving on from the band to focus on his career. Anyway I found this on the internet. It’s a bit odd - a mood piece I suppose - but there you have it. I don’t have a link. You can simply get there by googling ‘git stick it in the garage you tube’, clicking that video, clicking the little picture of Del, then scrolling down the list of videos, then clicking the video called 1985. Simple! CM
