One of our fave moments of the year so far 🧡
"Surgery went well, I am now ever so slightly lighter and off balance, but at the very least cancer-free!"
This is what @BrisbaneRoarFC fan Angus Barnes told DT38 Head of Media & Operations @d_giuffre at the DT38 Awareness Match in Feb.
In his words "DT38 saved his life".

Did you know? *Testicular cancer is on the rise - incidence rates have increased by more than a quarter since 1990. The reasons are complex and still being researched, but what is certain is that it’s more important to self check your testicles now than ever before.
Here’s how to self check: /testicular-cancer

"West Yorkshire doctor left paralysed 11 years after surviving cancer in his 20s’" from Yorkshire Live
"His life was "completely and utterly" transformed in a single moment."
A West Yorkshire doctor thought it was "game over" when the cancer he fought off in his 20s returned 11 years later to paralyse him from the waist down.
Dr Andrew Mockridge, 38, was first diagnosed with testicular cancer diagnosis in 2014 after suffering pain in his right testicle, but was declared in remission following surgery. But a decade later he was on holiday in Thailand when he suffered "what looked to be like a stroke", and was left unable to walk.
"I see it every day in my job, and especially working on the Air Ambulance, where people's lives have just been turned into complete and utter mayhem in a matter of seconds or minutes... (but) you don't think that yours is going to get quite so turned upside down so quickly," Andrew said. "I thought to myself, Is this game over?... I did truly think that was it."
Andrew's battle with cancer began in 2014 when, at just 27 years old, he noticed an "ache, like a pulling sensation" in his right testicle. He consulted his GP, who referred him for a scan, which he waited 16 weeks to receive.
He had undergone surgery at the age of eight to address an undescended testicle – a widespread condition, predominantly found in newborns, whereby one or both testicles don't descend into the scrotum prior to birth – and was aware that this condition represented a significant risk factor for testicular cancer in adulthood.

We are incredibly proud and grateful to be a Principal Charity Partner of @WestHam 💙⚒️
For over a decade, the club, its supporters, players, legends and wider community have stood shoulder to shoulder with DT38 in helping raise awareness of testicular cancer and the importance of early detection.
From emotional awareness matches and stadium-wide tributes, to fundraising campaigns and life-saving conversations, the support we continue to receive means more than words can say.
Dylan loved this football club, and seeing his legacy continue to inspire and educate through our partnership with West Ham United is something we will never take for granted.
