'Rooting Common Ground' is a
@tulanearch Spring Seminar publication, led by Leah Kahler, Research Assistant Professor with the NASEM Gulf Coast Climate Futures Project at the Tulane School of Architecture and Built Environment. [
@loam__chomsky ].
The publication investigates Louisiana's 'effort' in coastal restoration-- the ecologies, economics, politics and industries that shape how one can move forward with future-planning against land-loss and restoration. It contains ecological and case studies of various at-risk regions of our state.
It is a perfectly timed publication since the
@guardian_us coverage of Tulane's recent posted work in 'Nature Sustainability' around the 'state of the state and its future,' so to speak- has been ruffling the feathers of the business community, good-ol boy politicians, and the 'nola-do-watcha-wanna' die hards. Clearly, Louisiana is at risk-- but don't shoot the messenger. The people making decisions about the state are to blame---not the studies themselves. However, it is no surprise that Louisiana will always find an excuse or defer action for another day.
