A space reimagined for every moment.
The final phase of our work transformed an underused tea room into a dynamic, multi-functional space at the heart of the hotel. Designed to evolve throughout the day, it now hosts everything from relaxed afternoon tea to evening drinks and informal meetings.
Positioned just off the street, the room offers a glimpse into the hotel’s atmosphere, where the bespoke bobbin ceiling creates a striking focal point that draws people in from Knightsbridge.
The new bespoke bobbin shelving opens up snippets of atmosphere and the banquette seating adds a level of comfort and luxury enticing guests to stay a while. The newly designed oak panelling with subtle fluted detailing adds depth, texture, and quiet luxury throughout.
A refined first impression.
As the second phase of our refurbishment at The Capital Hotel in Knightsbridge, the reception was reimagined to better support day-to-day operations while elevating the guest arrival experience.
The design introduces warmth, improved flow, and a more intuitive layout for staff, creating a seamless welcome from the moment guests step inside.
A light-touch refresh to the guest washrooms preserves original marble features, celebrating the building’s heritage while gently enhancing the overall look and feel.
A home away from home in the heart of Knightsbridge.
The first phase of this project saw the refurbishment of 10 private apartments within a five-storey building adjacent to The Capital Hotel, setting the tone for the wider transformation to follow.
Each space was designed to reflect the comfort, elegance, and character the hotel is known for, inspired by the natural beauty of nearby Hyde Park and the architectural charm of Knightsbridge.
With textured panelling, soft neutral tones, and nature-led accents, the apartments offer a calm, inviting retreat, combining boutique living with the warmth and familiarity of home.
With apartments becoming ever more popular with guests seeking a true ‘home from home’ experience, The Capital Hotel asked Absolute to reimagine and elevate their apartment offering. The design takes inspiration from the beauty of nearby Hyde Park — its landscapes, tranquil lake and vibrant birdlife — while complementing the hotel’s remarkable architecture and central London location next to the iconic Harrods. The styling blends textured panelling reminiscent of Georgian townhouses with soft neutral tones and striking murals, layered with accent colours drawn from the park and surrounding architecture. The result is a refined yet welcoming scheme that connects guests effortlessly to the character and charm of Knightsbridge. The Capital Apartments will soon offer intimate, beautifully styled spaces where guests feel both indulged and at home. Elegant yet cosy, classic yet contemporary, each apartment delivers a boutique capsule of the grand hotel experience, perfectly reflecting its timeless location.
We’re delighted to continue working with the hotel on the next phases over the coming months, with the penthouse as the final chapter of this exciting project. We’ll be sharing little moments from our design journey along the way, so keep an eye on our stories as it all comes together.

We took our client on a creative journey from concept to completion. Starting with bold ideas and distinctive styling, we developed a scheme that worked seamlessly within the building’s character, budget and operational needs. We brought their brand essence to life through storytelling and design, while carefully planning layouts that maximised flow and elevated the guest experience. From sourcing finishes and curating materials, to providing the right furniture, fixtures and equipment, every detail was considered. With full procurement and project management ongoing, we will continue to oversee the entire process — ensuring the vision is delivered with creativity, precision and impact.

Over the past six months, Absolute has been busy transforming ten apartments at The Capital Hotel, Knightsbridge — once recognised as ‘London’s original boutique hotel’ and part of the Warwick Hotel Group. We’ve been working closely on site with contractors to deliver the first three apartments, while our bespoke furniture is nearing completion. With the finishing touches — from cushions to carefully curated accessories — now en route, the spaces are set to reflect the elegance and heritage of this iconic Knightsbridge landmark.

Flowing seamlessly from master bedroom to dressing room to ensuite, this space was designed to feel both warm and refined. The master bedroom, bathed in the evening glow, is inviting and homely — with the client’s bed and heirloom armchairs reupholstered to give them a new lease of life. A bespoke joinery unit was also introduced, housing a built-in TV and additional drawer storage to bring functionality with elegance.
The dressing room offers a bespoke window seat overlooking the harbour, alongside a tailored dressing table replacing a former built-in wardrobe. In the ensuite, Mandarin Stone tiles, classic T&G cladding, and brass fixtures from Cast Iron Company create a sophisticated, timeless retreat.
