STILL LIFE TALKING 📸 An exhibition by Drum n Bass icon @mrgoldie at Spot Lite MAY 23 - SEPTEMBER 6, 2025 “I look at my life as a set of photographs…” Before the internet. Before the feed. Before everything sped up. ‘Still Life Talking’ captures time as memory, motion as stillness — a life documented in slow photographs while the world blurs past like a hummingbird in flight. Presence over perfection. Now over nostalgia. A meditation on color fading to black-and- white without us even noticing — and the radical act of staying here, in the moment, as life constantly creates itself. Trophy collaborated with Goldie’s talented team on producing a limited series of 1 meter by 1 meter (39.34 x 39.34 inch) hand-deckled screenprints and archival giclee prints to commemorate the artist’s return to Detroit for a residency during Movement 2025, the electronic festival behemoth. Each unique image is packed with seminal moments and milestones from the life of the Metalheadz legend - expertly translated to paper by our friends at @bicep_press . Paper editions were hand-signed and numbered by the artist, and each edition included certificates of authenticity via Trophy.

We teamed up with @paxahau and @spotlitedetroit to help launch @jeff_mills_official "Star Chronicle” — a mind-expanding exhibition that took place on September 10 - September 13 2025 on space, consciousness and the futures we’re spiraling toward. The environment Jeff imagined was “a setting where most of the light in the space would come from one powerful source. Such a large light that it creates the light and dark side of most things in the space – including people. The imputation of a radiant source. Something present, alive and almost omnipresent like a Star or our own Sun. And as this source would be from only one position so that shadows would naturally be cast, especially during the night time hours.” Powered by production assistance from Trophy, the Spot Lite space was transformed into a temple for interdimensional ascension. Custom display cases and a 6’ neon-tube spiral were crafted by Detroit artisans and installed by Mills and the Trophy team to achieve the artist’s spatial vision. Jeff Mills is a pioneering force in techno whose work moves between music, contemporary art, film, design, and science fiction. Rising from Detroit’s early scene as The Wizard and a founding member of Underground Resistance, he has spent decades expanding his practice through Axis Records and multidisciplinary collaborations. Mills has scored films like Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, presented exhibitions in major institutions worldwide, and became the first DJ to perform with classical orchestras, creating works such as Blue Potential, The Planets, and Lost in Space. His projects Spiral Deluxe and Tomorrow Comes The Harvest further explore electronic jazz and global rhythms. Honored by the French Ministry of Culture, Mills continues to push the boundaries of sound, imagination, and futurist art.
