Happy New Year from Congress!
As we ring in a new year, weâre still reflecting on the incredible energy of Congress â25 in Rio de Janeiro â a truly landmark edition and our first time gathering in Latin America. From inspiring panels and bold pitches to meaningful connections across science, history, natural history, and factual storytelling, this yearâs Congress reminded us of the power of coming together as a global community.
Weâre deeply grateful to our attendees, speakers, partners, and sponsors who made this event so special, and to everyone who helped bring Congress â25 to life in Brazil. As we look ahead to the new year, we carry forward the ideas, collaborations, and momentum sparked in Rio. Wishing our Congress community a joyful holiday season and a bright, creative year ahead.
A look back at an unforgettable Congress â25 in Rio de Janeiro đ§đ·
As we reflect on an extraordinary week, we extend our deepest thanks to our host sponsor, the Rio Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation, whose leadership and support made Congress â25 in Rio possible.
Through the commitment of Tatiana Roque, Mayor Eduardo Paes, and their teams, the Congress came to Latin America for the first time, not only as a destination, but as an opportunity to bring new voices into the global conversation. Their support helped foster exchange and collaboration between Brazilian scientists and Congress participants from around the world, creating space to share research, perspectives, and the beginnings of new professional relationships.
Congress â25 was powered by connection, curiosity, and collaboration, and this partnership helped create an open, engaging, and eye-opening experience for all involved.
Thank you for helping make this landmark edition so meaningful.
And what a finale to Congress â25! Our post-congress excursion, supported in part by @embraturbrasil and @visitbrasil , wrapped with a tour of Iguazu Falls and a rare opportunity to tour the Itaipu Dam, the worldâs leading producer of hydroelectric energy, situated on the border between Brazil and Paraguay. This special visit offered a front-row seat to groundbreaking science, inspiring ideas and future stories. Even after Congress, our excursions stay true to our mission. While the journey ends here, the conversations certainly donât; we canât wait to carry this momentum into the new year.

The curiosity of Congress â25 doesnât stop here! Today, a group of members depart for a private excursion to Iguazu Falls, with plenty of remarkable stops along the way. Itâs the perfect way to carry the energy of Congress forward and continue the important conversations and exploration sparked in Rio. Thanks to @embraturbrasil and @visitbrasil for their support of this journey.

Thatâs a wrap on Congress â25 in Rio de Janeiro! đ§đ·
What an incredible week! Congress â25 closes as one of the most dynamic and globally connected editions in WCSFP history. Our first-ever event in Latin America opened exciting new pathways for collaboration and market growth across science, history, natural history, and factual storytelling worldwide.
Rio brought the energy, and you brought the ideas. Weâre heading home inspired, motivated, and full of momentum thanks to the brilliant conversations, sessions, and connections made over the past days. To every attendee, speaker, sponsor, and partner: thank you for making this milestone edition unforgettable.
This Congress also marks an important transition: after seven years of outstanding leadership, Conference Director Paul Lewis will be stepping down at the end of January 2026. Weâre grateful for his remarkable impact and thrilled that he will continue with WCSFP as Senior Advisor to the Board Chair.
Hereâs to new chapters, new collaborations, and everything this community will create next. đ
