Don Won! 🏆🦬 🍃 Don and the team are absolutely over the moon to announce that ‘ZUBR’ is the Winner of Best Short Film at the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival 2025 which was hosted in Mexico this year. This was such a fun project to create over the last 18 months. 🍃
To be noticed on a global stage with a debut short documentary is wild! It is the best feeling to know that people connected to this story, the magnificence of European bison, their emergence into UK wilderness and the underlying warning that we aren’t always so lucky to revive keystone species from the brink of extinction. They are truly the landscape engineers everyone doesn’t know they need. A walking biodiversity machine! 🍃 Thank you again to the whole team who made this pivotal story so engaging and inspiring. None of this would not have been possible without our fantastic bison ranger, Don, the kind people who donated to our crowdfunder as well as the support from our generous partners, Wildwood Trust, Films@59 and Wildreach productions. As well as the support from countless others throughout the process.
