“This implementation agreement is a betrayal of the country. It will let the province causing the most climate damage pay peanuts for its pollution. There is clearly only one province in Prime Minister Carney’s Canada – it’s Alberta, and it gets a free pass while the rest of Canada suffers the consequences.” Our full reaction to the Canada-Alberta MOU Implementation Agreement announced today - link in bio. #cdnpoli

Local governments are facing immense costs in response to #climatechange impacts. The big question is: “who is gonna pay for all of this?!” Our new blog looks at a recent poll showing how BC residents want their local gov to pay for measures to keep them safe. Meet some of the youth plaintiffs behind La Rose v. His Majesty the King, a landmark climate case arguing that Canada’s government is violating their Charter rights to life, liberty and security of the person by escalating the climate crisis. This October, Sophia, Kira, Lauren and their fellow youth plaintiffs take their case to trial in Vancouver, Canada! Swipe to learn more about them and their fight for climate justice. #YouthvGov #YouthvCanada #ClimateLitigation #ClimateAction #ClimateJustice

The federal government is proposing to make it easier to kill endangered species, pollute waterways & risk human health, all in the name of fast-tracking resource development projects. As West Coast lawyer Anna Johnston notes, "This would represent by far the worst evisceration of environmental law in Canadian history, far worse than what happened under Prime Minister Harper’s government in 2012.” #environmentallaw #impactassessment #cdnpoli

“These changes amount to a wholesale shredding of Canada’s environmental safety net. This isn’t a transformation, it’s an evisceration."—WCEL Lawyer Anna Johnston. Our full reaction to the latest proposal to weaken enviro & regulatory oversight over major projects - link in bio. #cdnpoli

Today we wear red for visibility, for remembrance, and for action. We honour Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (#MMIWG2S+) — and stand with their families and communities. Violence doesn’t happen in isolation. Resource extraction and remote work camps have been linked to increased risks for Indigenous women, girls, and youth in nearby communities. This is about safety, justice, and accountability. To support deeper learning and action, our RELAW team (Revitalizing #IndigenousLaw for Land, Air and Water) has created a resource list for those who want to understand these connections and their impacts. Check it out at the link in our bio. #reddressday #nomorestolensisters #indigenouslivesmatter

Food prices. Insurance. Cost of living. British Columbians are starting to link rising costs to climate change. The question now: how do we help others make these connections and then turn this awareness into support for real solutions? Our latest blog breaks it down.
