Trading and clowning with sax man Brent Rose on our French Quarter Fest weekend gig at the Maple Leaf Bar with my band Vieuxdoo Nouveau. At around 1:30 in things get a bit silly. So much fun playing with these guys and we’re really starting to find our creative voice. Can’t wait to make the album!
Switching from drums/timbales over to congas with Otra Latin band. Caught a couple of the guys by surprise cause they didn’t know I also play a little congas. It’s fun but I’m only good for a couple songs before my hands start hurting.😂😂😂. I’ve bruised a knuckle and broken a blood vessel more than once. Luckily not this time. Bad technique I admit but not too shabby for a drum set player. Always fun switching it up with my friends Gabo and Conga Mike!
Big thanks to my friends Brent Rose, Brandon Dellucky and Jesse Morrow for an amazing night of music. This band just keeps getting more creative and better at interpreting the tunes every time we play. Special thanks to the Maple Leaf Bar for providing us the opportunity to develop new original music at one of New Orleans best venues. Thanks to everyone who came out and for all the words of support and encouragement. Can’t wait till we can do it again!
Wrap up your French Quarter Fest weekend with some grooving original music at the iconic Maple Leaf Bar Sunday night. This band brings the fire so don’t miss this show! Music starts around 8pm.

This Saturday I’ll be playing Latin grooves on my hybrid timbale & drums setup with OTRA! Come on out and help us celebrate the memory of our friend Michael Skinkus. This is gonna be a very special night.
Big thanks to Tony Baglio for playing my original music on his New Orleans Grooves radio show! It’s an honor to be included amongst all this great talent.
The styles of music I play rarely call for double bass drumming. However, there are those moments in certain songs when 4 or 8 bars of double bass really help pump up the intensity. For those I developed my heel/toe technique to simulate the double bass pedal. It’s not quite as powerful as having the double pedal but it gets the effect I’m looking for and gives that part of the song the extra energy it needs. And it’s fun to play as well!
