Black Tusk, hands down one of the coolest looking peaks that the west coast of British Columbia has to offer. Typically, whenever I drive too and from Whistler I Can’t stop myself from looking in awe. The Tusk is a stunning looking monument that you almost wonder how in the world it could be a force of nature. Anyways, this shot was taken a couple weeks ago when @jurgencrous and I decided to fly around Garibaldi area. Jurgen is an absolute god at predicting light, as we caught this moment right at the start of golden hour! Definitely putting this flight as one for the books. It’s always an absolute pleasure being in the mountains with him!

So this is a bit of a strange composition. It was the result of pulling over on a logging road while the sunlight just happened to be glowing from the perfect spot. I took this shot last summer but kinda ended up going into my stock photos folder. Anyways here it is seeing the light of day!!! 🤗

I’m not really used to shooting those warm pacific beaches! Normally when I shoot water with such a vibrant teal, it’s from all those glacial minerals being mixed with the fresh lake water. This was taken while I was on my way up through the Big Sur. I didn’t have too much of a planned other than just driving up and shooting what catches me eye. This definitely was what caught my eye. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a waterfall setup right on The beach. I stayed for a sunset but the sun/clouds didn’t want to cooperate very well. Anyways this is the shot I managed to get at the start of golden hour. Hope you like it!!! 🤗

So this is my take on a night time long exposure of half dome. I was lucky enough to be able to use a bit of the afterglow from the sun setting to make that warm illumination. The two most difficult things with shooting at night were the difficulties of autofocusing as it’s too dark for your camera to get an accurate reading. And also my hands were absolute freezing constantly adjusting settings while it was -10c or 14’F. I found I just had to take lots of sample shots just to get the focus as close as possible. Another thing with long exposure at night is that the longer your exposure, the more the stars move. They are pretty clear in this shot but in the ones I took at a higher f-stop with more exposure time you can really see the trails being left behind.

Here is a prime shot of Jacob overlooking Yosemite valley while climbing up to Glacial point. On the right you get a nice big view of El Capitan which is a 1000x bigger than you expect it to be in real life. We got pretty lucky with the lighting considering we started the hike a tad bit later than intended.

So almost a week ago @jurgencrous and myself went flying up in the mountains. Let’s just say that Jurgen is an absolute god at predicting lighting so we got some pretty crazy heaters from that day! The way the clouds and lighting were working with one another allowed us to see come pretty cool cloud inversions. This allowed the peaks of the mountains to stick through the clouds allowing for those cool areal shots you sometimes see. This was on our way through The Jervis Inlet which is absolutely full of no sign of civilization other than the odd logging road here and there. I’ve got a bunch of other shots to post from this trip. I’m in no rush to post them as I have a bad habit to really like to take my time editing 😅🤗 in the mean time hope everyone is taking advantage of this fine weekend!!!

There is something absolutely euphoric about waking up before sunrise just to climbing up a mountain and view the start of the day from there. This was taken almost a year ago when me and my buddy Diesel decided to wake up at 3am to try and catch a sunrise in Squamish. Right now the mountains have a bit too much snow still to safely climb them. I’m already sooo excited for spring as that is when things start becoming a bit more accessible again!

Been a little off the radar recently. Ive been putting most of my time and focus into planning to mod the Xterra to turn it into a full on off-roading rig!!!Currently I’m just at home sorting through my 4tb of photos trying to make it a little easier to sort through everything! 😅 Anyways this is Probably one of the wildest sunsets taken while overlooking the Tantalus range! It’s one of those cotton candy skies soo good you can almost taste it! 🍭 Hope everyone is doing well. Just saw Once upon a Time in Hollywood yesterday (yes I know I’m late to the game) and was very impressed. If you haven’t already I’d highly recommend watching! 🤗

Something about the textures of the granite mixed with the trees comes of for me as rather soothing. I have a huge appreciation for how nature just somehow finds it’s way. Just looking at some of the trees in the granite cracks, I marvel how they are able to preserve through it all.

So it’s only 150 days until the official start of summer! I absolutely can not wait until the start of summer for all the hikes, trails, and long warm days that come with it. It has been raining pretty much every day in Vancouver, which usually means heavy snow in the mountains and Interior of BC. Which is not the most ideal conditions for shooting. This shot was taken at Wedgemount Lake. It’s one of those “Must do” hikes if you are in Whistler. I was trapped in the clouds while up top and managed to get some crazy cool dramatic effects because of that. Only a matter of time before I can hike these mountains again!!! 🏔

Hey so I finally got around to editing a couple of my Yosemite shots. This was taken on the way up to Glacial point along the Four Mile trail. I only stayed in Yosemite for 4 days. which was definitely nowhere near enough time to explore all that Yosemite has to offer. I already have a plan of what I want to do the next time I visit. Yosemite in the winter is absolutely stunning. As long as you don’t mind nights we’re it can hit -10c or even colder.
