When you can hit the target upside down with your feet… you’re living proof that limits don’t exist. 🎯 That’s what WAWABILITY is all about, defying the odds, showing what’s possible, and proving you can do anything when you aim high. 💪 @omniumcircus Alt Text (Video): A female acrobat from Omnium Circus balances in a handstand on a pedestal, draws a bow with her feet, and shoots an arrow across the stage at WAWABILITY event, perfectly hitting the bullseye and popping a balloon.

This summer? Unmatched. 👏🔥 The Sharkitects had the best summer of our lives, and @wawability was the heartbeat of it all. Two unforgettable nights at The Anthem, Washington, DC, celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. A stage packed with world-class performers, groundbreaking innovators, and the most passionate advocates we’ve ever met. We met some of the coolest, most talented, funniest humans on the planet, all coming together under one roof to honor disability culture, entertainment, and advocacy. Being part of this was more than just amazing… it was finding our people, our mission, and our purpose. Prayers answered. Proof that manifesting really does work. After all these years, we’ve found the impactful work we were meant to do. And we are so thankful that this incredible community embraced us like we’ve been here all along. 🤗 To the WAWABILITY team, @amkksky @foodogproductions THANK YOU for letting us bring our ideas, our energy, and our hearts to help make an impact. We’re still on cloud nine and honestly… we never want to come down. The magic is just getting started. 🚀 LET’S GOOOOOOOO!! #WAWABILITY #TheSharkitects #DisabilityCulture #ADA35 #AccessibilityForAll #EventMarketing #ImpactThatMatters #ManifestationWorks

Was @wawability an accessible event for Deaf participants? Yes! @RikkiPoynter shares her praise for the inaugural Wawability and how ASL access was incorporated throughout the event.  Visual description: Rikki, with her hair pulled up, wearing a gray shirt and black shorts, speaks to the camera. Transcript: Rikki Poynter: Hi, I’m Rikki. I recently went to Wawability in Washington, DC,  an event celebrating the ADA. Celebrating all disabled people. The event was two nights. The first was comedy, the second was mostly music. Of course, the event is about celebrating disabilities. So was it ASL accessible?  Yes, it was! People tend to wonder why we go to concerts if we can’t hear it. Well, some deaf people can hear some of it. But also...ASL interpreters! It’s the same with comedy shows! You know how sometimes comedians use them as part of their show? Randomly including them. It happened here. These moments worry me a little sometimes. I just want the interpreter there for access. So sometimes when comedians use the interpreters, sometimes they make jokes about ASL. But not really for this show. I thought it was fine. Sometimes, they’ll make some pretty bad jokes. Sometimes, it’s innocently funny or whatever. I don’t recall any bad or mocking jokes here, really.  And then for the concert night…come on. You’ve got three of the best ones for music interpreting. Amber, Kelly, and Trevor. They’re some of the best interpreters for concerts. End of discussion. It was good, of course it was good! I enjoyed it very much. I hope they come back again next year. They probably will.

While at @wawability , @RikkiPoynter had the opportunity to interview Andre (@djdeaftunez ) about why accessible events like Wawability matter. Visual description: Andre, a Black man wearing glasses, a tan ballcap and tan shirt, and jeans stands at Wawability. Transcript: Andre: Hello, my name is Andre. This is my sign name (makes A handshape and touches it to each side of his mouth). The reason this event is important is because…it’s about disability and culture. It’s important for networking. We want people to understand why it’s important to have these events. Make sure people new to this understand disabled people and our access needs. So it’s nice to have an event like this. To see all this talent. It’s amazing.

Friday FUN WAWABILITY vibes! Celebrating Disability Pride Month with a throwback to the incredible WAWABILITY 2025 Summit in D.C.! @wawability Honoring 35 years of the ADA, this event was a true celebration of disability culture, talent, and endless possibilities. 🎤 Kicking off the summit with my keynote “Transforming Possibility” was an honor. From powerful speakers to comedy, music, and art, it was 2 days filled with community and inspiration. Huge thanks to Warren “Wawa” Snipe for founding WAWABILITY and to TDIforAccess (TDI) + Foo Dog Productions, Inc. for making it all happen. @tdiforaccess @foodogproductions Image Description: Alycia smiling in her wheelchair near the event stage, exuding confidence in her black attire after her keynote event and before the show at the VIP networking party. @jackson_barton_dc #ADA35 #DisabilityInclusion #KeynoteSpeaker #Community #RepresentationMatters #DisabilityPride #WheelchairDance #Wheelchair #Wheelchairlife #disabilityawareness #Women #womeninspiringwomen #WheelchairGirl #MotivationalSpeaker #BossBabe #DisabilityPrideMonth #Dance @wawasworld1 @amkksky @adaptive.athletics.assoc
