This is an idea Iāve been sitting on for a long timeš„¹ Iām so glad I finally got to bring this to life with so much help from of a few very special people to me ā¤ļø If you know me, before I was ANYTHING I am now, I was a dancer. It was an outlet for me and I stopped for personal reasons, but it has and always will be my first creative love so I just wanted to pay homage to that š„¹ The song on the post is the song I had my first dance audition ever to so I thought it was a cute touch š¤£ (@marygrace.214 Iām sure you remember thatš„°)

āChoose Your Fighter!ā
Having the privilege to shoot in my garage space is a real blessing. It affords me opportunities to cut down on costs for certain shoots that donāt require a great amount of space or elaborate set design. Thatās not to say creativity gets stifled in this space thatās roughly 10ft wide, 10 ft tall, and 24ft deep, in fact, Iāve always been a believer in the power of limitations forcing people to become more creative than if they were gifted with unlimited space, funds, and equipment. This shoot with Victoria is a great example of making a lot with a little. Not only did we bring her futuristic sci fi video game aesthetic dreams to life through photographs, but I also whipped together a āchoose your fighterā select screen by rotoscoping her and myself into a designed character screen (utilizing a blank canvas ripped from Final Fantasy and utilizing Street Fighter 3 music). The garage gave her just enough to throw high kicks while still making room for dynamic lighting to give the whole thing a Jack Bridgland inspired vibe to the scene. It was probably one of the easiest + coolest edits Iāve done in a while because they just so effortlessly conformed to the vision we collectively had for how they should look. Beyond that, itās just always a joy to do photoshoots where the motivating factor is a personās upcoming birthday. I have another one of those shoots coming up later this week and Iām geeked for it. Getting trusted to create the images that everyone is going to see when your friends are thinking of you and wishing you a happy bday is, like, a garage studio, a real blessing.

Meet @whosjmt a well known DJ in the metro Detroit area. He was bringing the beat and making the floors quake with everybody getting on the dance floor. Perfect cherry on top to the @onlevibez runway show in Detroit. He was a whole vibe. The whole evening was. Go check them out.
