Chunky Black Hoodie — The Roy Veste
Three years ago, we set out to create a garment and were confronted with the reality that fashion is the third most polluting industry in the world—so every choice matters. Drawing inspiration from our surroundings, we fused an urban silhouette with the craftsmanship of nearby ateliers, seamlessly blending couture heritage into the contemporary menswear line we offer today.

Initially, Wave Texture set out to create gender-fluid clothing. For a brand mindful of energies and aiming to design timeless pieces, this approach made perfect sense. We sought to elevate our clients through refined construction, allowing their aura to shine without confining them. However, we realized that from its inception, a garment must be tailored specifically for a woman’s or a man’s physique. Precision is a defining characteristic of Wave Texture, and we couldn’t compromise by making oversized garments and hoping they would fit everyone.
Instead, we drew inspiration from a men’s vintage Hawaiian shirt with a naturally smart-casual structure. We made modifications to the collar, sleeves, and hem, choosing a more structured mid-weight seersucker to create the refined version presented today. We design every garment with close consideration of how a woman would wear it. Believing that women naturally exude a refined elegance in men’s clothing, we implemented a sizing range from XXL to XS to accommodate all body types. Here, Daniela, who is 1.76m (5ft 9in), is wearing a size L Sair Shirt and size M Riviera shorts for an effortlessly chic look.
The Roy Veste makes a silver screen debut with actress Park Ji-Min on Apple TV for her role in La Maison, Season 1 - Episode 1.
[Fun Fact]: At the time of the shoot, Wave Texture was scouring for a Parisian partner to produce Roy. Just days after finalizing the first prototype that met our vision—following six iterations with other ateliers—we were given the opportunity to present a small-sized version to the costume designer for consideration.
To meet the tight deadline, we enlisted the expertise of Lesage and our then-production partner to create this one-off piece. Simultaneously, we were still refining details like the embroidery colourway and ribbon selection for the inner seams. As a result, Mrs. Park Ji-Min wore the second ever produced Jade colourway and only veste we made with green velvet ribbons, a unique detail you can spot in her opening scene when the garment is worn open.
Honoured to see our garment brought to life by an actress embodying a character fighting for a more virtuous fashion industry—a testament to the versatile silhouette & craftmanship of the Roy Veste.
Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this moment to life. 🥀
