Project Finds // Week 35
.
These small, mysterious shapes are hidden under rocks and sand. They are hinted at, but beyond my comprehension. Nature’s “design department” never disappoints.
.
Belemnitida is an extinct order of squid-like cephalopods that existed from the Late Triassic to Late Cretaceous periods. Unlike squid, belemnites had an internal skeleton that made up the cone.
.
It is a representative of the animals that became extinct 65 million years ago in the great mass extinction that wiped out more than half of the Earth's animal species.

Project Find // Week No. 2
.
Early in the Waves of Blue Project this little companion caught my attention. With its weird shape, and amusing texture, if there was to be an ugly stone contest, it would be a serious contender.
.
As the project progressed, it reminded me of my own process: Embrace the beauty in what is right here, where land meets water. Where my eyes clearly see shape and color but struggle to recognize and accept the depth and distance.

Ferry Recipe
.
Among the most thrilling and pleasing adventures I experienced, were my visits to a handful of small Islands located along the Three Waves.
.
Tiny communities. Extremely lively in the summertime. And distinctly quiet during winter season.
.
It seems that I have an ambiguous obsession with islands. Like Tove Jansson writes in her book “Anteckningar Från En Ö”: “An island is a paradise, but also a prison."
