Welcome to our shiny new Spotlight series where we do exactly what it says on the tin; shine a light on emerging artists we love from around the world and think you should know about.
Kicking off the series, we have Berlin-based DJ and producer Katiusha (
@katiusha_lives ) who has recently launched her own record label GRACE, a sort of kindred spirit to the wav.world platform in its ethos.
Aiming to make releases more sustainable for everyone involved, GRACE prioritises paying the producer up front - tackling an age old tale where the artist is often the last person to be paid by a record label.
With the first release from Katiusha, she will be donating her fee to a charity. To celebrate the launch, Katiusha has delivered a groovy shimmering mix, accompanied by a short Q&A touching on GRACE and the label’s foundations as well as a powerful book recommendation.
