What a performance from Saahil today 👏
Last one of the day and bout 22 added to the nerves after a five hour wait from weigh in to boxing…not easy for anyone, never mind a young boxer still learning the game.
But once he stepped through those ropes he boxed brilliantly from the off.
Kept his range well, stayed sharp on the move and landed some beautiful little hooks throughout 👌🥊
He’s now up and running and with every bout his confidence will continue to grow.
Massive step forward for the once shy kid. That’s what boxing does when you stick at it…builds confidence, discipline and belief in yourself.
Well done Saahil, the whole gym is proud of you 👏

Oliver done now for this season. Tough bout to finish with against a good kid from Purge Boxing Academy.
This was Oliver’s third skills bout in two weeks and the first time he’s looked flat on energy. The longer wait around and his first daytime show definitely played a part.
But this is what development boxing is about. Learning what works, what doesn’t and gaining experience in different situations.
We’ve got plenty to work on over the summer and that’s the whole point at this stage. No shortcuts, no protecting records, no pretending everything is perfect. Just learning from the ups and downs and improving every time out.
As always, massive respect to every boxer who gets in there. It takes guts to step through those ropes.
If it was easy, everyone would do it. 🥊

Great to get the boys out again before the end of the season. Both have trained hard and stayed committed right through to the final weeks.

Last minute booking for tomorrow’s Yorkshire Skills Show over in Morley 👊
We now have both Oliver and Saahil out on the show if anyone fancies coming to support the lads.
With Tia out next Thursday, that will bring the season to an end for us… but there’s no winding down here.
Prep for next season has already started.
This morning at 8am we had 18 boxers in working on footwork drills and sparring. Great session with a really dedicated group of boxers putting the work in.
That’s the mentality we are trying to build with all the newer boxers coming through.
Be fit. Train hard. Spar hard. Stay on weight.
Then when the phone rings, you’re ready. 🥊

Oliver was up first in his second skills bout. Much more composed this time, less dancing off and started engaging far better. Looked in control throughout, just needs that little extra confidence now to fully execute his game plan when the openings are there 👌
Tia stepped into her very first skills bout and ended up in an absolute war 😅 Both girls fought their hearts out and neither wanted to take a backward step. I kept reminding her to throw and move instead of standing and brawling 🤣 but seeing that fight and determination in her is something you can’t teach.
Massive well done to both of them for stepping through the ropes and representing the club properly. The experience they’re gaining now will pay off massively in the future 💪

This structure allows for: ✔ Better coaching
✔ More space to work
✔ Improved technical development
✔ More focused sparring and conditioning

Youth zoodies are down to £19 and adult zoodies down to £24 which is a cracking price considering they’re usually £34–£42.
I’ve had mine over 2 years now and still wear it all the time. Good quality, warm and ideal for training nights, travelling to shows or just knocking about in.
