How you allow your own identity to be compromised when temptation comes around is the key! Jesus was tempted. And he responded to the temptation with the truth.

Temptation 🚫😳
Is it wrong to be tempted? Is there space to be able to recognize that temptation is not a sin?
There is so much shame around the concept of being tempted. We immediately feel guilt and shame when we feel the invitation of temptation.
But what we need to remember is that being tempted is not a sin ❤️Jesus himself was tempted. When Jesus reminded Satan the truth of the Word of God and remained convinced of his identity as the Son of God, that’s when the devil fleet.
We have the same power to do the same 🙏🏼💪🏼

What happens when we are honest with ourselves about who we are?
What happens when we are honest about how we are feeling?
Truth holds us to a framework for life that keeps us accountable. When we forgo the truth about ourselves, what we feel, how we relate to others, we falsify our lives and create shaky ground that makes it impossible to foundational believe in anything.
We need the truth of who God is and who we are to him to keep our feet planted firmly. Only then, can we grow and live full, authentic, enriched lives.✨❤️

Sometimes the circumstances of life can cause our viewpoint of God to be skewed. When we experience pain, fear, shame, trauma it can shape how we interpret the relationship we have with God.
It’s good to take time, step back and see if we are looking at our life through the lens of those experiences. Because when we can see our circumstances for what they really are, it can free us up to be able to see our lives and our relationships with God for what they truly are ❤️

Trying to keep mental/emotional wellbeing out of a conversation about sanctification is pretty impossible. When we consider what it really means to be transformed day by day into the image of Christ, we have to acknowledge that His holy outward behaviors flowed from holy inward processes ✝️❤️
