TEMPORALIA / Eco-connections 27.11.2025, 19:00 WASP Working Art Space and Production Artists: Andreea Căpitănescu, Mălina Ionescu &Andreea Medar, Carmen Tofeni, Floriama Cândea, Maia Ștefana Oprea, Tatiana Fiodorova-Lefter, Vasile Rață Curator: Andreea Căpitănescu Our world is in urgent need of profound transformation, and artistic practices that work with the body, time, and the environment have become essential tools for rethinking how we relate to ecosystems and social structures. Through presence and embodied attention, the body becomes a vector of perception rooted in the world, echoing anthropologist Tim Ingold’s view that humans and their environments shape one another through immersion, rhythm, and interdependence. In the broader context of green policies and today’s debates on ecological transition, art takes on the role of making visible the invisible processes, tensions, and vulnerabilities shaping our landscapes — from the shifting border of the Prut River to the post-industrial terrains of Iași, from the geological layers of Oltenia to the tourism pressure confronting fishing communities in Culatra, and the intimate ecologies revealed in botanical installations. The works in the exhibition demonstrate that transformation cannot be separated from territory, memory, or responsibility toward shared habitats. This perspective invites us to move beyond anthropocentrism and reconsider our place within the web of life — resonating with ecofeminist theories and the ethics of care articulated by thinkers such as Val Plumwood and Anna Tsing, who emphasize cooperation, fragility, and interdependence as foundations for a sustainable future. In this sense, art becomes a model of regeneration: a space where creativity and care coexist with ecological responsibility. Through collaboration, shared processes, and attunement to environmental rhythms, the works presented not only reflect the current crisis but actively participate in acts of renewal, healing, and collective imagination. Curated by Andreea Căpitănescu, the exhibition TEMPORALIA engages with both urban and ecological contexts, proposing a dialogue between tradition and innovation, territory and memory

Tower of Strength, part of the Compulser Lab project, initiated by 4Culture Association, brings together women artists from Romania and the Republic of Moldova in an exploration of memory, embodiment, and relationality through an aesthetics of active vulnerability. The exhibition takes as its premise Donna Haraway’s assertion that “all knowledge is situated,” transforming subjective positioning into a source of strength rather than limitation. The works operate as affective archives (Sara Ahmed), articulated through painting, textiles, installation, and video, where interiority becomes both a political territory and a site for negotiating feminine identity. Memory is approached as a synaesthetic and fragmentary construction, echoing Elizabeth Grosz’s claim that “the body is itself an archive of time.” Each artwork emerges as a micro-choreography of resistance — an embodied strategy for remaining present within an ever-shifting social landscape. Ultimately, Tower of Strength examines interdependence — “nothing exists in itself, but only through the relations it makes” (Karen Barad). Fragility becomes a mode of perception, and strength becomes the capacity to transform that perception into artistic and political agency. 🔸 Iași “Nicolae Gane” Museum – National Museum of Romanian Literature Iași Opening: 22 November, 5:00 PM 22.11.2025 - 11.01.2026 Artists: Maia Ștefana Oprea, @ilincaharnut , Valeria Barbas Coming soon:🔸 Bucharest @waspstudios WASP, Opening: 27 November, 7:00 PM Artists: @ioana_aron_n , Valeria Barbas, Tatiana Fiodorova-Lefter, Mălina Ionescu, Maia Ștefana Oprea, Marilena Preda Sânc 🔸 Brașov Brașov Art Museum, Opening: 5 December, 7:00 PM; 5.12.2025 - 31.01.2026 Artists: Ioana Aron @valeriabarbas , @tfiodorova_lefter , @malina_ionescu , @mirela_ivanciu_art , @maia_oprea_studio , @ana.petrovici , #marilenapredasanc, Doina Simionescu Curator: @andreeacapitanescu Producer: 4Culture Association Partners: @muzeul_literaturii Muzeul Nicolae Gane Iași, @muzeuldearta.brasov Cultural project co-funded by @fondul_cultural_national photo: @ioanaaa.rs

Acid Bodies - 6.11.2025, 7pm! Berlin-based artist, choreographer and critical researcher Grace Euna Kim presents a lecture-performance based on her long-term artistic research project Acid Bodies – an ongoing investigation into ideology, political embodiment, affect, and invisible forms of violence within communities. The event explores the body as a site of memory, resistance, and collective possibility, questioning how gestures, silences and social norms encode power, desire and ideology. The audience is invited to reflect on key questions: How is ideology embodied? Who or what colonizes the body? How are community, conflict, empathy, desire and resistance shaped? Acid Bodies positions the body as a space of poetic and political transformation, where community may be reimagined through vulnerability, friction and radical imagination. Grace Euna Kim explores the transformative potential of encounter through site-specific immersive performances in public spaces, visual art venues, performance stages and experimental formats focused on research and education. Her practice investigates ideology, political embodiment and affect, with a focus on the micropolitics of empathy and community within cycles of oppression and resistance. Since 2019, her long-term research on symbolic violence, Acid Bodies, has informed her artistic output. Drawing from psychoanalytic and critical theory, she develops 360° body-emergent approaches that mobilize aesthetics as political mediation between viewer and social reality. She holds an MA in Philosophy, Art and Critical Thought from the European Graduate School (Switzerland). She has taught at Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin (MA Raumstrategien), PYR FYR School of Performance Moscow, and has been a lecturer/mentor at House of Europe and Goethe-Institut Ukraine. Her work has been presented at Seoul Museum, Incheon Art Platform, Schauspiel Leipzig, Frankfurt Lab, Haus der Statistik Berlin, ZK/U Berlin, SOMA Art Space, Cité de l’image Clervaux, Galerie Madé Paris, Museum of Nonconformist Art St. Petersburg, WhiteBox New York, and Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam. #cofinantatdeafcn @lifelongburning @4culture_association @grace.euna.kim

@teatroskop @waspstudios @4culture_association

On July 25th from 7:00 PM at WASP, Ioana Aron will present a sequence from her performance "We Are Here", a project developed in collaboration with choreographers Favela Vera Ortiz and Georgeta Corca, and composer Abigel Varga. "We Are Here" is a performance-manifesto, a call addressed to the entire art world — a wake-up call and, at the same time, a return to essence: the artist as a living, fragile, complex being, not a product for consumption. The work explores the relationship between history, time, and space, delving into personal and collective memory through a series of emotionally charged performative moments. Following the performance, we invite you to an open talk with Ioana Aron and Călina Coman, curator and art historian, to further explore the themes and creative processes behind this work. @waspstudios @4culture_association @ioana_aron_n @vargaabi @georgetacorca @favelave @calinacoman
