Still buzzing from an unforgettable vernissage at the @conseilartsmtl 🥂 I’m beyond honoured to share that “Habiter le silence” not only found a new home, but was also awarded First Prize and Best in Theme. Truly surreal! A heartfelt thank you to @wasmtl for curating such a beautiful, inspiring evening and for bringing together such an incredible community of artists and art lovers. 💫 Grateful, humbled, and so excited for what’s next.

It was such a beautiful evening attending the exhibition by @wasmtl ❤️ I’m truly grateful for the experience, for meeting so many talented artists, and for being surrounded by such inspiring energy and creativity. ✨ Une soirée gravée dans mon cœur...✨ Hier soir avait lieu le vernissage de l’exposition sous le thème de « L’amour », orchestré par @wasmtl dans le cadre somptueux et patrimonial du Conseil des arts de Montréal. C’était une étape marquante pour moi : pour la toute première fois, j’ai pu vibrer à l’unisson avec le public et observer en personne vos réactions, vos regards et vos émotions face à mon œuvre. Ma peinture abstraite « L’aigle noir de Barbara », inspirée de l’immense chanteuse française, est une célébration de l’amour pur et de la passion. Immense gratitude envers le jury professionnel qui m’a fait l’honneur de me décerner le Prix de la 2e place ainsi que le Prix de la thématique. Merci aux organisateurs, au public, et aux artistes formidables et accueillantes avec qui j’ai partagé ces moments précieux. ✨A night engraved in my heart... ✨ Last night was the opening reception for the exhibition themed « Love, » organized by @wasmtl in the breathtaking, heritage setting of the Conseil des arts de Montréal. This was a major milestone for me: for the very first time, I was able to connect directly with the public and witness firsthand your reactions, your glances, and your emotions in front of my artwork. My abstract painting « L’aigle noir de Barbara, » inspired by the legendary French singer, is a celebration of pure love and passion. Deepest gratitude to the professional jury who honored me with the 2nd Place Award as well as the Theme Award. Merci beaucoup aux membres du jury ainsi qu’au @wasmtl pour cette magnifique exposition au Conseil des arts de Montréal, et quel bel édifice ! 🤩 L’exposition se poursuit encore pour 2 semaines.

Scenes from tonight's art show Vernissage at the stunning Conseil des arts de Montréal (Montréal Arts Council), housed in what was once the City of Montréal's first central library 📚 Presented by the @wasmtl (founded in 1894!), this beautiful exhibition continues through May 30th so there's still time to see it - including 2 of my #watercolour paintings. 🖼 One of them - "Breast Cancer Pain Blues" - is a semi-abstract as part my my Art Despite Pain #artdespitepain initiative, which uses my artwork to raise awareness of chronic pain conditions and shares my art practice to encourage others living with persistent pain to try creative pursuits as a neuroplasticity or brain-plasticity approach to pain management 🧠 The other is more representational, a circular composition of the echinaceas or purple coneflowers in my gardens last fall, from a bunny's perspective... as the wild rabbits in our yard often nap at the shaded bases of these plants on hot days 🌱 This art show is free to visitors, and this Beaux-Arts style building is well worth a visit for itself! 🏛 🧭  Address: 1210 Sherbrooke Street East Across from Parc Lafontaine (parking is available at the park) 🕗  Exhibition hours: Weekdays: 0800 to 2200 Weekends: 0930 to 1730 *A portion of any profits will be donated to the Montreal Children's Hospital, in support of mental health services for children. 🧸
