Claire Algar won the 2025 Staff Social Mobility Champion Award for her work empowering individuals facing multiple barriers to access meaningful employment and development opportunities. Claire has led impactful initiatives including a partnership with the EY Foundation to support young people from low socio-economic backgrounds, a 12-month staff internship programme, and work on prison leaver recruitment.

The Warwick Institute of Engagement Conference is back for 2026!

Join us for a day of exploration of public engagement with a mix of practical sessions, opportunities to listen and learn, and spaces for you to share your thoughts and perspectives. The conference is free to attend and open to all Warwick staff and students. Community members and University partners with an interest in public engagement are also very welcome to join us, as well as those working in Public Engagement at other institutions.
This years theme is Impacts of Engagement - exploring both Research Excellence Framework impact from public engagement work, but also impact beyond the REF.

Professor Kate Astbury and Abigail Coppins won the 2025 Inspiring Experiences Award for leading two interconnected public engagement projects aimed at sharing research on prisoners of war during the Revolutionary era with African and Caribbean communities. They collaborated with SV2G to create a new monument trail highlighting Caribbean resistance and simultaneously developed co-production methodologies to support educators in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Join our Co-Production and Communities Learning Circle for the 4th edition of CO-LAB, an annual workshop that brings together Warwick staff, students and their key collaborators for a series of conversations about what collaboration can achieve, and to enable networking and future collaborations to grow.
CO-LAB 4.0 will focus on the transformative role Warwick's education can play when it works to empower people outside of the organisation to change their communities and places for the better. This session will be of interest to anyone curious about collaborative forms of public engagement and knowledge exchange.

Be part of the Resonate Summer Festival! ☀️
We're inviting members of the local community to campus for an all-ages day out, and are looking for hands-on activity, short workshops, performances and more! We're here to help you to share your work and welcome submissions from students and staff across all faculties and subjects.
📕🧩This year we’re also creating our first Resonate activity book for ages 4+, full of puzzles and activities related to the work that happens at the University, and we’d love for you to share your ideas! The activities will be created by a member of the WIE team, so all you need to do is tell us a little bit about your work.

Dr Paul Grigsby won the 2025 Educational and Training Innovation Award for his work on the Warwick Classics Network, significantly expanding access to classics through school outreach, public events and student-led engagement.
