11 years ago today, “Life’s Too Short”, my comedy collaboration with @rickygervais Gervais and @stephenmerchant aired on BBC2 this clip was based on me actually installing a low spy hole in my front door which Ricky and Stephen made even funnier with their brilliant writing and direction.
Bodmin jail is an excellent historical attraction with added spookiness, perfect for a ‘Galloween’ treat. 👻 You can even stay overnight in the jail, which is now a boutique hotel.
Hogwarts has always held a very special place in my heart. 🏰⚡️
When I first stepped into Professor Flitwick’s robes all those years ago, I could never have imagined the journey this character — and the wizarding world — would take me on.
Thank you to all the fans who have kept the magic alive — I can’t wait to see you back in the classroom. Here’s to further adventures at Hogwarts. ✨📚
Went to a screening of Jaws 50th Anniversary last night. I’d forgotten what an incredible piece of cinema this was. An absolute filmmaking masterclass by Steven Spielberg without a single pixel of CGI. 🦈 Jaw(s)-dropping! 😂
In memory of the late Michael Gambon, I wanted to share a fun story from the set of ‘Harry Potter’. Instead of removing his glued on beard at lunchtime, make-up artists would shroud It in a food-proof cloth bag. However, as a joke, Michael would weave all manner of foods into Dumbledore’s beard inside the bag. So when the bag was removed after lunch, it resembled a buffet at a bad wedding. It was laden with prawns, quiche crumbs and whatever else the michevious actor could lay his hands on! Thank you for the fun and laughs Michael. x
Myself and my family had the pleasure of knowing and working with Michael Gambon. As well as being a mesmerising and hilarious storyteller, he was an actor with gravitas and good humour in equal measure. #RIPMichaelGambon
