Closed out two amazing shows this week! “Young Hot Ebony” was a beautiful curation by @superkay.art highlighting black women and non-binary artists. The space and the energy were phenomenal and I’m so grateful for the collaboration that came with such an amazing show! I also finished my 6-month residency with @atl_printmakers at the end of June which was closed out with our exit show and artist talk. During the reception, I got to talk about my work created during this time and its connection to my past, identity, and family. A very vulnerable but beautiful opportunity that I glad I got to share with those who came. These shows both meant so much to me- for so many different reasons. I look forward to continuing on this journey of connection through sharing my work and am so grateful everyday for the opportunity to do so ❤️❤️❤️

“Kinkeeper” 18x24in Linocut Relief Worked on this carving for over a year and a half and finally finished Alot of problem-solving went into this print, especially with its emphasis on texture- how to depict smoke, fire, metal, etc??? It was hard! Very happy with the results and truly feel like I was meant to finish it when I did!

“The Apartment at Avalon” 20 x 27in Screenprint My last print created in 2025! This was originally a woodcut design but for time and color sake I converted it to a screenprint. (Spoiler…a 7-layer screenprint is not faster than a 1-layer woodcut :3 ) I have an interesting relationship with this print and weirdly enough out of all my prints people have the most interesting interpretations around this one thanks for looking <3

Last month, I had the opportunity to have my first gallery solo show! “Uprooted is a personal printmaking exhibition reflecting on memory, place, and identity. Drawing from my upbringing in Mississippi and lived experiences across the South, I use images of past homes, magnolias, and natural environments to trace how childhood spaces shape who you become. Through woodcut, linocut, monoprint, and screenprinting the work considers, belonging, displacement, and the lasting influence of the places we come from.” Grateful to @cherokeecoartsnc @woodmusings and @rachelalanawatson for allowing me the opportunity to share my work and paint all over the walls. Thank you for my sister and her support both in the work and dealing with my driving coming down to NC. Also grateful to my roomies for showing up and showing out per usual. Uprooted was a chance to put together the work I had so far. Im not quite done with these subjects but I look forward to seeing how they evolve.

The other week I had so much fun facilitating two workshops at Georgia Tech! The first was during @georgiatecharts ImagiNATION Arts Festival. I guided an introduction to relief printmaking where everyone got to carve 4x6 blocks - many people making their first ever prints! The next day I taught a second workshop with @rcw_papermuseum for their Tactile Tech Thursday programming to do a collaborative community garden print using precut laser blocks I designed. I feel so grateful to have shared printmaking in both of these unique spaces. It is always so special to me to see peoples excitement when exploring the medium. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!!
