My allergies have been kicking my butt, but I still can’t help admiring the trees and how green everything is. Since I was a kid, I’ve had seasonal allergies so bad my mom wouldn’t even let me go to the park sometimes 😭 and honestly, to this day I’m still sneaking off to the park anyway and suffering the consequences.
I’ve always had an admiration for the city, but I’ve realized I have a completely different kind of connection and appreciation for nature too. Both sceneries bring me gratitude in different ways.
Every year, we watch the leaves fall, the branches go bare, and somehow they bloom again. It reminds me of myself. No matter the season, one thing about me… I’m always going to bloom again…and the city is always thriving even when under construction 🌱🏙️✨

Watching it took me straight back to my childhood, faithfully tuning into ANTM with my mom. Some of our best bonding moments were in front of the TV: Project Runway, Gilmore Girls, ANTM… even remembered writing in my high school yearbook that I was going to be a supermodel 😂.
Plot twist: I became a TV & film producer (and more).
The doc had some dark moments, and it really made me reflect both as someone who’s modeled and someone who produces. I almost didn’t share photos from my last shoot because all I could see were “back rolls” Janice Dickinson would’ve torn me up for 😭. But I got out of my head… because the shots are stunning and who cares fr.
As a producer, I also felt deeply for the girls on the show feeling powerless, willing to do anything for their careers, filmed 24/7… only to still struggle for real-world opportunities afterward. A story always has to be told, and the narrative doesn’t always feel good for the people on screen. Everything can’t be sunshine and rainbows because that’s not real life. And when it’s all said and done, someone usually ends up holding the blame.
Tyra wasn’t perfect, but she created an iconic show that shaped so many models and moments in culture. The doc just reminded me that there’s often light within the darkness and multiple truths can coexist in the same story.

I was thinking….Valentine’s Day and Black History Month share something in common, they were both born from struggle and transformed into celebration.
What started in resistance became remembrance.
What started in sacrifice became love.
This year, I’m grateful to be free in every way.
Free to create.
Free to choose wisely.
Free to protect my softness.
And I pray that whoever I love continues to pour into my creative mind and kind heart not harden it.
Love should feel expansive.
