a study exploring form, shadow, skin, and tattoos! my focus was on how the body occupies space in an image in various contortions and how lighting influences depth, focal points, and mood. Arielle embodies a timeless, earthy beauty that grounds and transforms you the more you bathe in the warmth and simplicity of the images. I feel a spiritual and fantastical tie to all my work, with this beautiful Black goth boho styling, I couldn’t help but think of genies or jinn—born of smokeless fire. this energy transcends human sight and comprehension, birthing creations that exceed dimension and space, evoking emotions beyond words. my aspiration is for my work to always be of that caliber—uncontainable, defying any confines, yet granting any wish and expression beautifully and timelessly. thank you, Arielle, for being a wonder.

During my New York trip I had the immense pleasure of finally meeting Trinity after almost a decade of online friendship. Growing up in the same digital orbit then seeing someone in the flesh is a cool ass experience that I love repeating with the coolest people I know. Trinity is a gorgeous Aquarius, and embodies the free spirited, provocative, unconventional, hilarious, innovative, humanitarian focused 11th sign of the zodiac to the fullest extent. 11: the Master Number of the visionary. I grew up adoring her incredible talent with hair, and how she expressed herself through color, fashion, bmore ass rants, and decorating her space. The funny thing is though Trinity happens to be the coolest, she doesn’t care to say too much about it. There’s always a lingering mystery dissociative from how eccentric she is. I wanted the nucleus of my art of her to be about her inner world, where not many dive inside. It was important for me to capture her in an intimate setting, her own home and enliven the softness of daily unwinding. A meditation on who you truly are when the door is locked behind you, the lights go off, and the water runs, waiting to wash away everything you had to armor yourself with for the day. We also had a fun ass time creating in the dark, on her rooftop with the lights, stars, and noise of NYC above & below us. Here is where I played with motion a lot, the swing state of her braids juxtaposing with her still yet immersive pretty Piscean face. This was my second study on tattoos which was a dream since Trinity has some of the best ink I know of. The art she’s chosen to adorn herself with is nothing short of remarkable and fits her style perfectly. What we created is a duology that couples simplicity with strike, intimacy with enigma, movement with stillness, darkness with luminescence, fluidity all around. Warmhrted is an escape, creating the illusive memory of a world where you were seen fully and loved thru it, even if it was where you always dwell. It was a true delight to have this night in Brooklyn with you Miss Aqua and I look forward to more!

Out of breath, sweating, losing my mind but running thru New York with you. It was so much fun and unforgettable. You edited so wonderfully and captured the infectious, joyous energy of the song. Wanting the honor of loving a potential partner and you actually got it in REAL LIFE. Thank you for being my longtime friend and always pushing me into a new artistic space, thank you for inspiring me endlessly. I love the song and how the video turned out so much. It was the biggest pleasure to see you sing live, meet your partner, and see how you live in NY. I love you forever twin!

I think I’ve surprised myself the most thus far this past year. I get a lotta shit about the life I live but I wouldn’t change nun about it, no matter how contradictory how unorthodox how risky how incomprehensible. For the past several years I’ve spent my birthday mad depressed bc I don’t think I did enough to be proud of making it another year thru. Idk I’m tryna change my tune. I laughed a lot this year, I started my transition, I found new appreciation for my body and face and voice, I stared pure Love in her face and drank from her well, I got engaged, I smiled really hard, I met my best friend, I had fun with friends and friends of friends, I danced a whole lot, I ate very well, I created some cool art, I made n spent a lotta money, I drank myself to death, I cried some. I faced Death some more. And I’m typing this rn so, I made it back around :)
Happy happy happy 22nd to me. Alhamdulillah. Thank you for keeping me here. I pray that love washes over & through me as deep as possible for this next lap.

HAPPY JUNETEENTH, HAPPY PRIDE
i figured since it’s gay Black ppl birthday today I’d share the Pride photos today. My first Pride out as a trans man was so euphoric and healing, to see so many beautiful, down to earth, openly queer/trans, creative, smiley Black people out in the wild in front of the US Capitol blew my mind. The energy was so infectious. I’m from Texas but I also grew up in a small town in North Carolina, where Black queerness won’t really celebrated ever, in fact quite the opposite. I’ll probably never come out to my granny fr😂but I came out to a lotta folks recently and I still am little by little everyday, socially and pretty soon medically transitioning is not easy but days like this one make it so much more important and real. Representation matters. BLACK QUEER JOY IS RESISTANCE. and they’ll never take it away from us. Thank you to everyone who let me snap they photo, you’ll be immortalized as exactly who you are.
