My work has long focused on portraits of people, moody landscapes, and the shadowed environments few ever see. Places where texture, silence, and emotion speak louder than words.
Lately, that fascination has led me to focus on an additional subject: the animals that share our lives. Their presence carries a quiet depth and dignity that belongs in the same frame every bit as much as we do.
Over the next week, I’m opening a select number of fine-art animal portrait sessions. Each session is an intentional experience, designed to capture not just likeness but spirit— something timeless and deeply personal.

Now more than ever, watching and waiting for moments to reveal themselves offers an incredible sense of satisfaction. There is much beauty in the quiet details, the simple things, and emptiness punctuated by poignant presence. Now that I’ve had more time to do some hard drive diving, here’s an old photo from a trip through the Rockies a couple years back. On this day, I was reminded not to take icy roads lightly when we got caught in a sudden blizzard and had a near miss with a mountainside as we slid all over the road. Beautiful turned deadly in the blink of an eye.
Gorgeous churches such as this one dot the Icelandic landscape, striking and elegant reflections of their surroundings.

Seeing this neat, old microscope was a cool reminder of the value of taking a closer look. With so many things vying for our attention, it’s all too easy to completely overlook the little things in life.
