It was an absolute pleasure to participate in the #culturalxcollabs project by the Museum for Islamic Art in Berlin @staatlichemuseenzuberlin and DHL @dhl_global .
A replica of the 17th-century Dragon Carpet was divided into 100 fragments and sent around the world to inspire new creative encounters. Receiving Fragment No. 79 brought me back to my childhood in Syria, where I spent hours imagining worlds hidden inside the patterns of our carpets.
Today I am sharing the first of three video artworks inspired by this fragment, titled "79s". Inspired by my ongoing series "For the Love of Carpets".
