Have you visited the new Seven Sisters Market @7sisters_market ? After five years of dedicated work, we’re thrilled that this iconic community space has reopened its doors to the public! Previously known as Latin Village, @7sisters_market has always been the heart of London’s Latin American community, and you can expect to find 40 new indoor and outdoor stalls selling everything from delicious food and drinks to fashion, beauty, and more. The market also has a new outdoor seating area and a new community space hosting cultural events and activities. This project to bring the market back to life would not have been possible without the dedication of the market traders, the vital advocacy of @wards_corner working in partnership with @placesforlondon to refurbish the market, the support of @haringeycouncil , and the @mayorofldn . Come and explore the new space, support the traders, and celebrate one of London’s most vibrant cultural hubs! 📍 Seven Sisters Market (near Seven Sisters Station)

Latin American culture is cool. And so are our languages. But Latin Americans need more than cultural appreciation. We need #Recognition #OnTheCensus2031 If you DtMF or your “hips don’t lie”, make sure you tell your MP that you support Latin Americans and you want them to be part of the Census 2031. Last Wednesday, as part of our Public Engagement Programme #MarketTales, we launched our Community Filmmaking workshops at Seven Sisters Market 🎬 Supported by the British Academy, and in collaboration with the @derbyuni and @veronicaposadaalvarez , the project explores the Latin American community in London through storytelling and territorial healing. The project aims to co-create narratives that see the market as more than a physical space—a place of belonging, resistance, and care. Led by @wonderingcic , participants use film to tell their own stories and engage with the community in their own voices. This is just the beginning. Stay tuned! ¡Atentxs!

“The building is the body and the community is the soul.” Victoria Álvarez, trader at Seven Sisters Market, @wards_corner board member and member of the Seven Sisters Traders Association, and María José Gonzales Zevallos, community organiser and BUDD alumna, reflect on their lived experiences of the market as a space of care, learning and resistance. Following the release of the short film by Alex Macfarlane, we’re sharing clips from the testimonies that shaped this year’s UDO Designer as Activist sessions led by Mahsa Alami and Milagros Vidal in collaboration with Wards Corner CBS and Unit 38 Watch the full film via the link below (also available in our bio): /watch?v=nCBekZpQST4
