2025… where do I start.
The change was internal.
I read The War of Art by Steven Pressfield, and it extinguished any last reservations I had about succumbing to the resistance that was keeping me from reaching my potential. I also internalized that the experience of who I am and who I will be is a singular phenomenon on the elongated timeline of existence, something that could never be replicated. The specific air I’ve breathed, the love I’ve experienced, and the pain I’ve felt form a combination that will never exist again. With that in mind, I could never hope to be anyone else.
This realization reshaped the way I create. Music isn’t something to perfect into acceptability, it’s a residue of lived experience. No one could ever embody your lore, nor could you, their’s. The confidence that came from that understanding is hard to describe, a quiet, unwavering permission to build as I will.
This year I healed, made a best friend, reconnected with old friends, moved into a new apartment in Denver, released five songs that I poured myself into, completed the 90-day Instagram challenge, became more technically proficient at the piano, hiked some of the most beautiful places in Colorado, and played a set in New Orleans to celebrate my friends getting married soon. What a fucking life.
Looking forward, I’m putting out more than double the music I did last year. I’m also pushing way harder to play shows because, c’mon, we gotta let our souls do the talkin on the dance floor. I’m endlessly grateful for the chance to do this shit and I remind myself of that anytime I stray from the origin and try to intellectualize what should be felt.
Stoked for you guys to hear what’s coming 🤍

Note on the song:
Lightness and darkness wax and wane throughout life. It is this delicate interplay between the two that grants either any meaning at all. Like a clock, its hands ever-transient yet ever-returning, we move through existence in cycles, often under the illusion that things are changing when in truth they are only rearranging themselves. We live through reiterations and retellings of past experiences cloaked in new environments and novel stimuli, mistaking surface variation for transformation.
Light to dark, dark to light, we are perpetually returning home. The feelings reincarnate again and again, familiar yet disguised, and yet we rarely surrender to the stoic wisdom this recurrence could offer us. If we were to internalize the inherent duality of our nature, these repetitions would cease to feel like punishments and begin to function as teachers.
To understand that all things are expressions of the same whole, the gestalt, is to make endurance possible. It allows us to meet darkness without panic and light without attachment, recognizing the ebb and flow of feeling not as an interruption to life, but as one of its most fundamental and necessary rhythms.
This edit came together after a full day of work using a combination of AI tools and traditional creative processes. I’m genuinely excited about how these technologies expand what’s possible for artists. I’m always open to thoughtful conversations about AI as a natural evolution of human creativity and how it can be used intentionally, responsibly, and with soul. 🤍
