- It is held every year from the end of december until end of February (when ice starts to melt) in Harbin, north China
- Temperatures in winter can go as low as -35° as the city gets cold wind coming from Siberia
- It's the largest ice and snow festival in the world, with the ice taken directly from the Songhua river close by
- in recent years the park has been as large as 80 hectares
- The best way to get there is either by bullet train from Beijing (5h) or by plane to Harbin international airport
- Ticket for a day pass is around 45e
