Black Flag are the hardcore punk pioneers who wrote the blueprint for DIY culture. Emerging from California in the late 1970s, they took the raw energy of early punk and turned it into something far more volatile, disciplined - and faster. By grinding through unrelenting tours and pushing out records through their own label, SST Records, they created a roadmap to the underground that many punk, metal and indie bands have followed since - effectively decentralising the music industry decades before the digital age
Now, five decades since they were founded in 1976 by guitarist Greg Ginn - who remains the sole original member in the band - Black Flag are bringing their sheer visceral intensity to Hong Kong. Here we outline the 10 tracks that tell the story of the hardcore legends, a legacy that’s etched into the DNA of modern music and influenced everyone from Nirvana to the most experimental corners of heavy metal

Since forming in Shanghai, China in 2012, the band ROUND EYE, with their ferocious live shows and boundary pushing records has been a crucial force in bridging the wide gap between the eastern and western hemispheres of DIY punk rock.
