Olivia’s story began when her mother was five months pregnant. After a series of abnormal ultrasounds, doctors noticed something was wrong and conducted a series of genetic tests. They determined that Olivia had an extremely rare genetic disorder called an unbalanced translocation of her 8th and 22nd chromosomes. She was the only known person in the world with her specific genetic makeup. This disorder made the pregnancy extremely high risk and gave her an unknown life expectancy.
Olivia had a wide array of diagnoses, including failure to thrive, microcephaly, chronic lung disease, epilepsy, specific antibody deficiency, growth deficiency, pediatric adrenarche, deafness in both ears, oral aversions, autism spectrum disorder, and she was G-tube dependent. She was nonverbal, non-ambulatory, and completely dependent on others to care for and advocate for her. She spent most of her life in hospitals due to severe illnesses, seizures, and an inability to tolerate feeds.
This past year, Olivia’s health declined much faster than anticipated, and on May 5, 2026, at 8:55 p.m., she passed away in the arms of her family, in her own bed. Her family has found comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain and can run free in a body that does not fail her.

Maverick’s story began with small symptoms that didn’t quite add up. Things felt off, but his family hoped they would pass until they worsened and they sought answers. After an ER visit, they learned he had a brain tumor and he was life flighted to Primary Children’s Hospital, where life quickly shifted from normal routines to hospital rooms and critical decisions.
At just eight years old, Maverick was diagnosed with medulloblastoma and underwent major surgery. His family is incredibly grateful the entire tumor was removed, giving them hope in a frightening time. Further testing showed his tumor is SHH-activated and TP53 wild type, which is more responsive to treatment, and along with no spread, doctors estimate a 75–81% five-year survival rate, bringing much-needed clarity and hope.
Maverick has now begun radiation and chemotherapy, and his family has temporarily relocated from Idaho for his care. They navigate the physical, emotional, and financial challenges while supporting Maverick and their other four children. Through it all, their community’s kindness has meant everything, and they are taking this one day at a time, focused on helping Maverick heal. He is strong, deeply loved, and worth every fight ahead.

After fighting for his life for two weeks in the ICU, Chris passed away from a previously undiagnosed brain tumor, leaving behind his wife, Sarah, and their two young daughters. Chris was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, missionary, BYU graduate, software engineer, and loyal friend. He loved sports, Mario Kart, the Philippines, and most of all, God and his family. On December 6, he developed a sudden severe headache. The next day, Sarah took him to the ER. His last words to her were, “I’m just trying to give you a kiss.” Minutes later, he stopped breathing. A scan revealed a large brain tumor. He was life-flighted to another hospital, underwent two brain surgeries, and fought courageously, squeezing “I love you” three times. On December 22, he passed away. In one final act of generosity, he donated five organs, giving life to five other families. His legacy is faith, family, and quiet strength.

On Halloween, at just 32 years old, Alli received the devastating diagnosis of an aggressive form of breast cancer—triple-negative breast cancer—while raising four young children under the age of six. Following the guidance of the talented doctors at Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City, her treatment journey is beginning immediately with an intensive plan of care.Instead of immediate surgery, Alli is starting an aggressive course of chemotherapy right away. This intensive treatment is essential but will be incredibly taxing on her body and spirit over the coming months. After completing her initial round of chemotherapy, Alli plans to undergo a double mastectomy in the spring of next year. The road ahead will be a long and grueling process of treatment and recovery. Saylor is a five-year-old girl who has been fighting her way through this world from the very first moment. She and her twin sister arrived via the miracle of IVF, and then, at two years old, Saylor was diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and identified as nonverbal. Saylor quickly began intensive weekly therapies and, with the love and support of her amazing parents, was learning new skills and enjoying life. You would almost always find her dancing and laughing in her current favorite swimsuit of the week.
In April of 2025, Saylor’s parents and therapists noticed she just wasn’t quite herself and seemed to be struggling with her balance and energy levels more than usual. Scans revealed a tumor on her brainstem—a rare and aggressive cancer called DIPG. There is no known cure, and time is precious. Since April, Saylor has endured 30 rounds of radiation, chemotherapy drugs, and multiple surgeries and procedures, yet all the while she has been spreading sunshine in her swimsuit, inspiring so many as she endures the unimaginable.
Maximizing the priceless gift of time is now the goal. Right now, Saylor is blessed to be having more good days than bad, and our hope is to support her and her family so that they can truly soak up these days together without the worry of financial strain. Saylor and her family continue to spread sunshine despite impossible circumstances, and they invite you to do the same wherever you might be.
