These tapes were created over 50 years ago by the Bronze Age Feeling Institute and issued through our subsidiary record label. For reasons lost to time, most documentation related to the existence of these tapes was destroyed and/or redacted. Some scholars have speculated that the “Underworld Songbook” is in fact a grimoire containing coded instructions for accessing the very place it’s named after, and opinion is strongly divided on whether this information should be made available to the public. The B.A.F.I. believes that these materials belong to all who wish to study them, and we are now in the midst of an internal investigation to uncover the saboteur within our organization.

Honestly, a part of me dreaded the idea of playing this last show in Vancouver. I knew it would end up being a sort of goodbye party (the kind of party I was trying to avoid having at all costs) and I expected myself to feel heavy and sad and I couldn’t wait to get it over with. But was I ever wrong! It was so, so heartwarming to see a room packed full of people who have been mainstays of my time in Vancouver. People I haven’t seen in years, people that witnessed some of the very first Wallgrin shows close to a decade ago, all sorts of people who’ve supported me in all sorts of ways. I didn’t feel sad, actually. Just grateful and loved. How incredibly special to have all those people in the same room at once!
One cover of “Leaving On A Jet Plane” later, I did just that. If I may be even more earnest, I’ll tell you that the love and support from that room has made the shocking transition of moving away so much easier. Very grateful to @michaelslumber for inviting us to play. I’m currently toiling away in Toronto finishing the mixes of these new songs and I can’t wait to put them on the internet for you to hear.

Those days between the solstice and the start of the new year… I never know quite what to make of them. It seems like they should feel so quiet and contemplative — but instead, I always find myself restless, waiting for the world to wake up again.
Do you have the same feeling? No matter how wonderfully peaceful or utterly unbearable you find this time of year, come by @the_lido on Dec 29th for one last @hotdeliyvr show and we’ll get through it together.

Consider your suspicions confirmed……. I am… moving to Toronto….. in January…..!!!
I’ll miss you a lot, don’t get the wrong idea. But I’m actually like, completely elated to go somewhere new for a while. Parts of me feel incredibly sad that the city I love and have called home my entire life can’t be all the things I wish it was. But, alas, not everyone can love you back in the way you need to be loved (it’s not you, it’s me) and that’s why I’ve decided to part ways with Vancouver for the foreseeable time.
The first photo is of me waving to you at my favourite place in the world, the glacial-melt river I love dearly and swim in as much as possible every summer. (📷 @troll.dolly )
Then I’ve chosen a few more moments that capture what makes this place so special to me. Including a picture of my butt, because that’s genuinely how I’ve spent a lot of my time around here. It’s all part of the ocean-forest-mountain magic. And the soundtrack to all this is the song “The Weave” by @agcook404 , which I’ve been listening to over and over again… somehow it’s become a place for my home-leaving feelings to rest and process.
There’s one last Wallgrin show in town before I go, if you want to wish me farewell in person. December 29 at @the_lido with @immix.sound 🩵 I can’t promise I won’t shed some tears on stage since my emotions are very much RIGHT at the surface these days and I’m kind of into it.
