New York has long stood shoulder to shoulder with Paris and Milan, at times claiming the crown as fashion’s most influential city and at others relinquishing it to its European counterparts. In recent years, however, NYFW’s dominance has felt less certain, its cool factor diluted by commercial sprawl and shifting global attention. For our first-ever digital cover, we turn to one of the designers helping recalibrate the city’s edge: Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen, whose work pushes back against the corporate tide with clarity and conviction. Model Sarah Grace Wallerstedt wears Whalen’s designs throughout the story, grounding the vision in a distinctly modern New York attitude. If a renaissance is coming, it begins here.
