walking race was supposed to be a lot of things that never really materialised properly so I guess this is fitting.
Even the two songs that were released were essentially demos.
These are rough cuts, false starts, and abandoned blueprints. Including fragments from an unfinished concept album about Chris Chan, love letters to midwest emo and the revival scene and late-night voice memos set to scratchy recordings.
For fans of open tunings, unfinished recordings, and the kind of sincerity that’s easier to share with strangers on the internet.

The majority of the EP, when it arrives later this year, will be concerning learning disabilities, dementia and mental health in one way or another and with that in mind I do want to further help people of those communities now that I don't work in health and social care anymore.

This song is for my friend, he was remarkable man with down's syndrome. He was the happiest person I'd ever known despite not being able to see, speak, walk independently, wash or go to the toilet himself etc. He taught me a lot of humbling truths about what it means to be human.
Me and my friends did all we could to prevent his death but it wasn't enough. He died in my arms as we sang his favourite songs for the last time.
I will always love and miss him.
If it becomes at all possible, I would like to raise money for the down's syndrome association and help to prevent the injustices that became of my friend from happening to any other vulnerable people with down's syndrome.
