I sang and played acoustic guitar, bass, piano and synth on this track that was recorded @clubhouserecorders with engineer @waligosk and mixed/mastered at /O Studios by @e_dawsontate

“𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿” 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆.
This song started on New Year’s Day 2018. It was born from a hungover realization that I’d never actually keep my resolutions. It began as a fingerpicked shoegaze demo in a shared house and ended up as the sonic blueprint for our entire record, 𝘙𝘌𝘝𝘐𝘝𝘌𝘙.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀: We wanted to twist traditional instruments until they were unrecognizable. We converted the original “human” guitar performance into MIDI and ran it through an OP-1 synth to create something in between real and artificial.

Thanks a bunch for all the supportive feedback on the EP so far! It means the world to hear that people are enjoying it. There’s something special about taking a familiar track and giving it a fresh new twist. With a different vocal style, it’s like discovering something entirely new.
This project has been in the works since the start of the lockdown. Determining how to package and present to you was the challenging part.
